Went for a run before dawn this morning. Crazy the things you run into!

I noticed myself feeling anger and frustration. Agitated by inefficiency. I had to make that meeting after PICU rounds! 7/
I loved my job, but it had become my life. When I found academia taking more and more from my life where I had to extract time from my family, I sought for change. Academia refused to allow me my non clinical time. So I sought a different opportunity. 9/
A month ago, I left my academic #PedsICU job.

More opportunity led to more work. Hours per day became more hours per day. That clinical time bought out, I guess it was just special on paper. I found myself working more clinical and academic time. 10pm meetings, I wouldn’t miss them! 6/

Today is my last day at @UTSWNews and @childrens. From my 2012 medical degree to the 3 years as a @UTSWPedsCCM critical care fellow and the last 5 years as an attending. I developed a strong early career as an educator in #MedEd and #simtensivist. I will miss this place. #PedsICU
