Tyler Robinsonās defense is now pushing for a trial to start in the 3rd quarter of 2029, a full 4 years after Charlie was murdered.
1. This is absurd on its face.
2. It seems like the defenseās strategy is to delay, delay, delay. If they were confident in their case, or believed their client was innocent, they would push for a speedy trial. Why let your client be locked in a prison cell for 4 years if you felt he was innocent?
3. Charlieās children, who were 3 and 1 when he was murdered would be 7 and 5 by the time a verdict is handed down according to this timeline.
4. The state already presented an avalanche of evidence, and it wasnāt even all they have. The state says they would be ready to go in the second half of 2027. This already feels like an eternity, so why not push the defense to meet this minimum threshold?
5. Utah taxpayers have spent over $1.6 million to date on this case, a figure that will balloon to potentially $10 million, maybe more. And the longer this drags out, the bigger the bill.
This process genuinely feels like a slow motion, never ending horror. We want a fair trial, and our system demands it, but the process should also be fair to the victims who have to wait so long for justice and closure.

Tyler Robinson is the man charged with murdering Charlie Kirk in front of a crowd of students at Utah Valley University, and his lawyers now want to push his trial to the third quarter of 2029. Four years after Charlie was killed. Erika Kirk just filed against it, asking for the trial to be held in 2027, and her motion calls the defense timeline "grossly out of line with comparable cases." She is right, and every one of you knows she is right.
Let me explain what a delay like that actually does. Witnesses move, memories fade, the cameras go home, and the outrage that filled a stadium with grieving Americans gets folded up and filed away while the lawyers bill hours and the calendar does the work for them. Justice delayed is justice denied, and the people who run our courts know that better than anyoneā¦ so why is a 2029 date even on the table? How is this even a thing?
And yet a widow has to walk into court and ask the system to do the one job it exists to do. Think about that. She buried her husband, she picked up his work, she stood on a stage and forgave, and now she has to fight the clock too. Funny how the same system moves at lightning speed when it wants to, and crawls when it would rather you forget.
I am not asking for a show trial and I am not asking for shortcuts. I want a fair trial, a real date, and a verdict while Charlie's kids are still young enough to know their father mattered to the country he loved. Is that really too much to ask?

No trial date was set ā Judge Graf has scheduled another hearing on Nov. 9 where we expect a ruling.
After hearing arguments from both sides and Erika Kirkās lawyer, he said he had initially planned to set a date today but needed more time to unpack the ādata pointsā theyād all shared.
Kirkās attorney Jeffrey Neiman was fiery speaking on behalf of Erika ā saying justice delayed is not justice for the Kirk family.
Both sides had agreed that a trial over holidays (in 2027) wouldnāt be the best for jurors and witnesses.

Now this could change when the defense starts bringing on their witnesses. But they have a mountain to climb in my opinion to discredit these prosecution witnesses.
