Keeping girls in secondary school requires more than enrolment targets. It requires #genderresponsive financing that recognises and addresses the real costs of education for girls and their families.
The National Girls Education Financing Conference 2026 will bring this question into focus, examining the financing gaps and policy choices that shape girls' access to and retention in secondary school.
More details coming soon!

𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲.
A daughter should never feel ashamed of menstruation. A son should never grow up believing it is something to hide. And a father should never remain silent when dignity and equality are at stake.
𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹. 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹.
When non-menstruators challenge silence, discriminatory practices, and unequal power relationships, they become allies in creating lasting change.
𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, dignity must shape our conversations, decisions, and policies.
Because no one should have to fight for dignity in their own home.

They spent a lifetime building our homes, our communities, our future. Now it’s our turn to make sure they can live with the dignity, care, and security they deserve. Senior citizens’ rights aren’t a favor they’re a promise we must keep.

The checklist is simple, but its impact can be far-reaching. It is about more than education today, it is about the choices girls will have tomorrow, the bright futures they can build for themselves, and the meaningful role they can play in societal development.

The question is not whether girls should be allowed to dream, but whether they are being given equal opportunities to pursue those dreams. From access to schools to supportive learning environments, removing barriers to education is essential to ensuring that every girl can move forward.

This September brought news many of us have waited years to hear: the UN General Assembly proclaimed 27 November the International Day for the Elimination of Child, Early and Forced Marriage. But this must not become just another UN Day. It must become a promise to every girl: child marriage will end in this generation. Recognition matters, but action must follow through laws, education, protection, investment and collective courage.
