We’re losing resources starting as soon as tomorrow in one of the hardest hit places in Santa Rosa county. WTF?! Yes, we have grocery stores opening back up — but this isn’t a community full of financial resources. The damage here is unprecedented. A mom who DID prepare, and lost everything when their neighbors tree crashed into their home, came in tears today able to finally get diapers and wipes for her infant, waiting 3hrs in line. Around 5:30pm, I had to start turning away people for the pizza they drove out for, that fed over 400 families today (free of charge), because they ran out of dough. Some people just got out of their homes TODAY — and they’re turning off the assistance starting tomorrow.
