It is bad when our enemies disenfranchise us and it is good when we disenfranchise our enemies. Not complicated.
The Western allies were desperately hoping the Nazis would plow through the Soviets, while sustaining heavy enough losses that the West could then sweep over the pieces and do to both what the Nazis had hoped to do to Eastern Europe.
Every successful revolution throughout history defeated a state with what was then "modern technology." Did the Bolsheviks think "the era of revolution was over" because the empire had triplanes and machine guns? Did Vietnam crumble under the weight of 8 million tons of bombs?
The closest real example was a few decades of hegemony by the Hasmonean dynasty in the second century BCE, as the Seleucid empire was declining. They had a brief period of expansion, fell into civil war, became a client of Rome, and soon after were liquidated as an entity.

This idea keeps popping up, and every time, it's the same rank chauvinism that dismisses the agency of revolutionaries across the world. You are diminishing their adherence to a materialist worldview as some European dalliance, rather than a choice they make with eyes wide open.
It's not the Marxists who are being "inflexible and counterproductive." We have ideological standards for membership, and so does every single religion. They insist on belief, we insist on secularism. They "close-mindedly" refuse to entertain our perspective, we reject theirs.
