A Manchester CRF patient is first in the UK to receive an innovative treatment for a serious form of the autoimmune condition lupus.
The Phase 1 study is assessing cancer therapy for lupus, which can damage the heart, lungs, joints, brain or kidneys.

🥳We’re thrilled to hear that Exa-cel has been made available to patients with thalassaemia!
Exa-cel, also known as Casgevy, is the first CRISPR therapy to be approved for use by the NHS, and provides a ‘functional cure’ for people unable to have a stem cell transplant.
