Does anyone know why the Joby N545JX is at SunTrax tonight? IOW, why did it leave the Cape when it's supposed to be flying there Sunday?
SunTrax #AAM Expansion Update 1/2:
- AIR potentially occupying Hangar 1 - TBD
- Joby Ops occupying Hangar 2
- Construction progress continues at rapid pace
- SunTrax partner EVE prominently featured SunTrax in its quarterly earnings materials — no residency timeline offers (likely waiting for runway completion)
- Elevated Pad 3 requires markings and lighting before FAA certification
- Joby N545JX will likely return to SunTrax after its Cape visit. Possibly to be processed for ground transport elsewhere. Best wishes to Joby & AAM participants at NASA Max Power this weekend.

There's is a distinct change in the air surrounding AAM in Florida.
EVE has been a silent named SunTrax partner along with AIR and SkyFly. Today, we've seen or heard from all three relating to the facility. This along with Joby which has been operating out of SunTrax for weeks - and continues to do so.
SunTrax is the epicenter of AAM in Florida and will have an oversized impact on the national conversation.
Florida continues to demonstrate leadership in preparing for commercial eVTOL operations through proactive legislation, strategic investments and infrastructure planning.
Building on Embraer’s longstanding relationship with the state, Eve looks forward to continuing its collaboration with Florida, SunTrax and industry partners to help advance the UAM ecosystem.

Welcome to SunTrax, AIR and SkyFly.
Great to be back at SunTrax in Auburndale to see the progress being made in advanced air mobility.
Polk County has an important role to play in the future of aviation, with opportunities to attract new investment and create high-paying jobs. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Advanced Air Mobility Caucus, I'm working to advance this emerging industry and ensure Central Florida remains at the forefront of American aviation.

Flights at SunTrax by Joby.
SunTrax #AAM Expansion Update:
- NEW Construction permits for hangars 5, 6, & 7 have been filed. This will mark the beginning of hangars 5-10.
- SkyFly & AIR have both posted SunTrax residency materials on their websites
- Hangar 4 has electric. All existing hangars are now complete or near complete.
- Joby has apparently conducted the first-ever flights into, out of, and testing within Florida’s new AAM test facility. Congrats to Joby, SunTrax, & FDOT.
Adding to that last item: SunTrax and FDOT, if you haven’t already commissioned a plaque commemorating these landmark events by Joby, I’m a bit embarrassed for my home state. Send me the text and I’ll get it done.
BETA N916LF transited overnight from KPIE to KISM (88mi, 143km) which is just outside Orlando (MCO). It will ultimately pair up again on Nov2 with Joby's S4 at MCO, however JX is still at TPA.
I would venture to say, the S4 may break this into two legs. Will we see it at SunTrax today?
A quick Joby St. Pete photo wrap-up. The videos the Media captured are better than anything I have. They're awesome, as was it to see it in person. Here are some SPG ground environment photos to close out the event.
I've routed all BETA photos to @TheGoatGains since I cover SunTrax and those who inhabit said facility.
BETA, SunTrax has your Cube chargers, please visit.
That’s a wrap at SPG. TBH, an underwhelming event from an AV nerd perspective. I’m so glad I was here yesterday and then spent this morning at the hangers while everyone else stood in the sun down at the event site. A Joby rep”says” that after the VIP event in Tampa, then back to St Pete/Clearwater. Then (timing and stops unknown) to Orlando. Then to Cape. I asked about “South Florida” and the rep said he didn’t know anything about a stop there.
hunble request to Joby: Any chance I could get an invite to either the SunTrax hangar or a BTS visit at the Cape? Thank you.
Great job to both BETA and JOBY.
It was an incredible afternoon watching Joby and BETA arrive before their event tomorrow (Friday). TBH, I kinda gave up taking pics of Joby because the banking loops being performed around the SPG airfield were so amazing, I just had to sit back and watch. Anyway, here are some pre-show pics. 1/2
I'm routing the BETA pics through @TheGoatGains.
