Miami-based Related Group is beginning to make progress on the future site of Southbank Residences in Downtown Jacksonville.
🏙️ The $202.7 million project will feature 395 apartments across a 25-story and an 8-story building. It will also include retail space and a restaurant.
💰The city is providing $58.79 million in incentives for the project.
🙌 It will be the first new luxury high-rise on Downtown’s riverfront in more than a decade.

When the Prudential Building opened in 1955, it was the tallest office building in the South?
The 22-story building has gone through multiple name changes over the decades and is now part of Baptist Health’s medical district.
👮 The new 346,000 sf office houses administrators, detectives, 911 dispatchers and many other operations on 11 of 19 floors.
It also includes a parking garage and cafeteria. 🍽️
Its former facility had over 165,000 sf of office space, along with 215 underground parking spaces.

👉 JSO moved parts of its operations from the 52-year-old Police Memorial Building to the former Florida Blue building at 532 Riverside Ave.

👉 JSO moved parts of its operations from the 52-year-old Police Memorial Building to the former Florida Blue building at 532 Riverside Ave.

💰 The school board agreed to sell the headquarters to Ashco Centers for $15 million.
⚠️ BUT… there is a catch.
👉 DCPS gets up to three years to find a new location before development can begin.
That said, Ashco will use that time for planning and preparation so that shovels can hit the ground as soon as it’s available.

Another addition to the Jacksonville skyline may soon be happening. 🏗️
Ascho Centers announced plans for the Seaport at St. Johns, located at the site of the Duval County Public Schools headquarters.
Plans include a hotel, condos, and waterfront dining.
The school board agreed to sell Ashco Centers the headquarters for $15 million.
But there is a catch…
DCPS gets up to three years to find a new location before development can begin.
That said, Ashco will use that time for planning and preparation so that shovels can hit the ground as soon as it’s available.
For years Jacksonville residents have heard promises to develop the Laura Street Trio, only to be let down each time.
Not this time.
The historic buildings, which rests in the heart of Downtown, will soon be home to a hotel and residential units.
