But getting rid of Werenski for a haul of prospects, picks, and maybe a young roster player or two, would be a terrific start to kickstarting a rebuild that would only take 2-3 seasons. Then you trade off the few tradable contracts like Provorov, Sevo, and Coyle.

But all of this isn’t possible with this current regime. At a minimum, there needs to be a new GM. Ideally, we have a new president of hockey ops and even a new owner. But let’s just get a forward thinking GM who’s frame of reference for a good hockey team isn’t the 98 Flyers
