Cooler weather is rolling in across North America, so it’s time to trade out those summer fits — with a little help from our (bird) friends. 🍂❄️ Consider this your official “steal the look” roundup, fall edition. Which look should we do next? abcbirds.org/birds

There’s been a ton of filming in my neighborhood, which was getting pretty annoying until I found out they’re filming something called Sex Criminals, which is about a couple who discovers they can stop time when they have sex and use this power to rob banks

It really is an honor to me that I’m not allowed to “just” throw a party. Everyone expects bits, spectacle, and unexpected encounters in everything I do.

I miss crypto where I could explicitly tell people to bribe me to skip the line. apparently some of the copy i wrote turned people off from the peptide rave because i wasn’t maximally inclusive. i’ll probably never be maximally inclusive but the feedback has sort of been heard 😗

In January 2025 my mom’s lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here. A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy. So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years. The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip. I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform. Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post. kffhealthnews.org/health-ind…

similarly, my parents told me that the Blair Witch Project really was found footage when it came out
My parents gave me a copy of Catcher in the Rye for my 13th birthday and I stayed up all night reading it in a single sitting. The next morning when I was like “that was amazing he was speaking directly to me,” they said “you and 50 million other kids” which was very humbling

The most "we have SF at home" event I've ever thrown (including IN SF) but I loved it. What a magical time. Everyone was incredible, the crowd was beautiful, the drinks were flowing, there was so much cross-pollination. We'll run it back soon xoxo

The whole home needs to be rethought from the ground up with robotics in mind. Why are we treating robots like toasters? They are friends, and can be so much more than a fancy single chore appliance.
The home robot industry needs to address the obvious issue of having a giant and expensive obsolete thing in your house every few years

It makes little sense that we approach homes as places we fill with ChoreBots. I don’t want humanoids folding laundry, I want helper hands and other forms of help attached to some sort of overhead spine so robots can help me with tasks in every room. It should have a little nook to sleep in, like a family dog. xitter.cf/bonecondor/status/2092…
Best I can tell, the frontier of robotics essentially boils down to two choices in shape: Chore Humanoid or Murderdog

I weep for the roomba, for the small little intelligences we take for granted, for the humanoid robot who has to deal with the downsides of being human-like, while being treated like a larger air fryer. I am once again asking why there is no radical imagination happening

stop throwing events at the same time as other people’s events and start coordinating on what experience you want people to have across an entire night. stop fragmenting your own liquidity and learn to work together
