I’ve not watched Match of the Day for years, and that includes the episodes in the early days of our return to the top flight.
I can’t see the point. Content and highlights are widely available and we live in an age when non-match-going fans can watch 3pm games ‘by other means’.
I'm losing my love for Match of the Day, and this weekend proved me right.
Mark Chapman’s presentation here is completely flat. Football is all about passion, banter, and pure emotion—so why does the BBC package it like a corporate seminar? Chappers is totally different on the radio, but on TV he looks bored rigid, like the last person you'd ever want to talk footy with.
While the pundits do a decent job, the whole atmosphere is way too sterile.
Give us presenters who actually love the game, can take a joke, and sound like real fans talking with mates.
Football is supposed to be fun. Can someone please remind Match of the Day?

I’m only a casual boxing fan and far from an expert, but I thought Dalton Smith was somewhat fortunate to get that decision.
Well I thought it was more of a must-not-lose game rather a must-win match tonight, but it’s still frustrating that we’re creating chances and not getting the wins.
That said, I’d probably be even more concerned if we weren’t creating the chances (I think).
A year ago today when #NFFC beat Porto in the Europa League and my user handle was Garibaldi on Camera.
Looking at the number of (or lack of) spectators at the Gqeberha Test Match between South Africa and Australia once again highlights there’s only one group of people who truly care about the longer format of cricket:
The English paying public.
More positives than negatives today. A win at Ipswich on Friday would make things look a lot brighter, but easier said than done. They looked pretty decent against City yesterday.
Five days on and with my stomach churning ahead of this afternoon’s game, I stand by this.
I fear the worst, but I did four years ago this week and then we went and beat Liverpool.
Steven Gerrard was superb on @ThatsFootballTV. Knowledgeable, considered and genuinely insightful, offering balanced football analysis rather than noise.
A refreshing contrast to the rabble, manufactured outrage and ragebait that too often dominate on stations like talkSPORT.
You’ll get little sympathy from any English football supporter.

Unacceptable and inhumane treatment of Fenerbahçe fans at Birmingham New Street Metro Station!
Fans, including women and children, have been trapped in a tunnel for over an hour under archaic conditions, resulting in people being crushed. We strongly condemn this primitive policing and the outrageous use of batons against innocent people!

The Premier League is a strange one this season in more ways than one.
I guess it will settle in time, but it’s all very turbulent at the moment.
I think we’ll be ok, but we could be in the bottom three in the coming weeks.
Patience needed.
Despite playing City, I still can’t bring myself to want the home side to win this game.
A creature of habit, me.
I never get bored during an international break.
My life doesn’t centre on Forest or football, as much as I love the former because there’s so much more to enjoy: other sports and interests.
The older I’ve got, the more I’ve realised there’s much more to life than football.
Watching Netflix’s Schumacher ’94 was a real trip down memory lane.
It took me straight back to 1994 — the noise, the drama, the rivalries, the unmistakable sound of those cars and the feeling that you were watching something extraordinary unfold.
