PSA For a lot of subs, there's a razor thin line between "I can't believe I'm doing this but it's so hot, I'm having a blast!" and "I'm totally overwhelmed, I do not recognize myself in this behavior, and I want to run away." A lot of the hottest experiences we have push us right up against that line and keep us there. Some scenes may even nudge the line itself, but it can be like playing with fire. In the worst cases, a sub can get suddenly overwhelmed and freak out, sometimes ending a scene or a whole dynamic without being careful of their partner's feelings, or their own. It's important for both subs and Doms to be aware of this complexity, and do their best to avoid negative outcomes. Communication is the key here, and the more experience you get, the more aware you'll be of your own emotions. Learn to get comfortable setting boundaries in ways that don't break the scene. Most of all, it's important to be patient and forgiving. As intense as a lot of our play can be, it's ultimately supposed to be fun, and to lift us up!
