The support for my department, which is under threat of closure, has been overwhelming. But there is now only 2 weeks until the next (and likely final) vote on its future. The petition for support has 42,000 signatures, please help us reach 50,000.

This week is the last of our face to face #anatomy teaching to our medical students. What a massive achievement. To say thank you to our wonderful demonstrators, we've gifted them coasters made by our anatomy suite manager @BooteLeia at @TufftyDesign @UoNLifeSci @MattersAnatomy

Shout out to my fellow 5.30am runner who a) crossed the street before overtaking me, b) turned on his phone torch so I could see him and b) “morning”’d me with a perfect blend of friendly disinterest. Exquisite dude-running-in-the-dark etiquette, my man.

I do feel like this conversation around blood clot risk and the AZ jab doesn't sufficiently register quite how many women are on contraceptive pills with v high blood clot risk already

If Priti Patel doesn’t have to face trial over her expenses then we truly live in a fascist state because it’s not possible to spend £77k on eyebrows. This is blatant money laundering lol

I called one of my patients whose operation has been cancelled by Covid to find she is in a crisis centre after attempting suicide, driven by pain likely to have been relieved by surgery. I am devastated, both for her and the millions waiting for treatment. The NHS is broken.
