This is now published in Advanced Photonics 🥳 doi.org/10.1117/1.AP.8.1.016…
According to our reviewers, the original version of the manuscript "failed to articulate the broader impact these powerful results" [quote is paraphrased]. In light of this I'll say...

We’ve raised over $1 billion towards our work to build the world’s first million-qubit scale, fault-tolerant quantum computers.
We are thrilled to have @BlackRock, @Temasek, and @BaillieGifford lead this round now valuing the company at $7 billion and welcome @Macquarie Capital, @RibbitCapital, NVentures (@nvidia's venture arm), Adage Capital Management, @TypeOneVC, Counterpoint Global (@MorganStanley), @1789Capital, and SVentures (@SentinelOne). The round also included participation from existing investors including @blackbirdvc, @ThirdPointLLC, and @TRowePrice Associates, Inc.

. @DARPA has selected PsiQuantum for the final phase of the Utility-Scale Quantum Computing program evaluation. The Validation & Co-Design phase of the US2QC program, as part of the Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI), marks a critical milestone on the roadmap to deliver an industrially useful quantum computer. psiquantum.com/featured-news…
If you wanna do some simulations of processes where you're heralding non-gaussian states from gaussian states + photon detectors but you want to include realistic errors like loss and distinguishability, you should check out our paper!
Replying to @polyquantique
* Simulating lossy and partially distinguishable quantum optical circuits: theory, algorithms and applications to experiment validation and state preparation arxiv.org/abs/2412.17742 in collaboration with @BosonBulmer and co-led by our own Javier Martínez-Cifuentes @polymtl
A lot of this work goes back to my PhD student days, where I was lucky enough to be working closely with @BellBryn and @polyquantique. Massive thanks to Javier too for lots of great work on formalizing the derivations and running all the numerics to get us over the finish line!
thanks so much to the organizers for inviting me to give a talk in this location!
And now Jake Bulmer from @PsiQuantum on fusion based quantum Computing
Giving this result another plug because (a) it's still timely in 2024 and excitingly (b) it's just been published in PRL! 🥳doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.… @patrickyard6 @aejones360 @alexmainos @PaesaniStefano @quantumplator
This is perhaps the best quantum computing talk I have every watched. Neutral atoms going hard. youtube.com/watch?v=g8TMpaMB…

We have over 1300 signatures to our open letter and they are still coming. You have until 12 NOON TUESDAY to sign our letter standing up for EDI in science and telling the UK government they do not speak for scientists in their 'anti-woke' rhetoric Sign at hull.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/edi…
really great paper to read if you want to learn more about connections between Gaussian states <--> their photon counting statistics <--> graph theory
with @yaniccd (undergrad @polymtl) we spent most of the last year understanding the structure of the photon-number cumulants of Gaussian states. Below a really nice thread on what we found (hint: it involves Montrealers). Here is the link to the paper: arxiv.org/abs/2212.06067
atoms can be bosons too! ⚛️
180 atom, ~1000 site boson sampling (equiv. to 180 input single photons photons in ~1000 modes). Just 5% loss. Crazy stuff!! Big congrats to the authors.

On the non-asymptotic classical approximate simulation side of things, I am curious about whether it outperforms truncated cumulant methods e.g. qojulia.github.io/QuantumCum… or arxiv.org/abs/2109.11525 - hopefully the community will look into this!

A long read but worth the time.
