9 months ago, me and my co-founder @freeguy__ started Bread Africa with a simple idea:
Make crypto → fiat as easy as sending a text.
No KYC.
No sign-ups.
No friction.
Just swap and go.
People said it wouldn’t work.
Too early. Too risky. Too unconventional.
We built it anyway.
People used it.
They shared it.
They trusted it.
That was all the validation we needed.
Today, that journey hits a major milestone:
Bread Africa has been fully acquired by @sirmapy of @smcdao and is now evolving into @SwapwithBread.
This wasn’t just an exit.
It was a strategic move.
One that gives us the freedom to go all in on something much bigger.
Because while building Bread, we realized something:
Moving money isn’t just broken.
the entire financial experience is.
So we started again.
Quietly.
Relentlessly.
Obsessed.
Today, I’m excited to share:
@BankwithLoaf is LIVE - and we’ve already onboarded our first 1,000 users.
No noise. Just execution.
Same philosophy. Bigger vision.
We’re building for:
• Borderless payments
• Stablecoin-native banking
• Seamless global transactions
Not just for crypto natives - but for everyone.
Because the future of money won’t feel like “crypto.”
It will just work.
Massive thanks to @Sir_Damilare, @jessepollak of @base, @Uyoyo_O of @cngn_co @Harri_obi of @SuperteamNG and everyone who believed in Bread Africa from day one.
You didn’t just support a product - you helped start something real.
And we’re just getting started.
If you’re building, investing, or thinking about the future of money in Africa.
Let’s talk, This is still Day Zero from our end.
Happy to share that SMC has successfully completed the full acquisition of Bread Africa.
Bread is an off-ramp solution that enables seamless swapping of crypto to fiat.
As part of this new chapter, it will be rebranded to Swap with Bread (@SwapwithBread).
We’ll be placing the platform in maintenance mode as we rebuild and expand its capabilities.
Upcoming features will include:
Fiat to Crypto swaps
Crypto to Crypto swaps
Airtime to Crypto swaps
We’ll also be integrating @stablenaira, alongside continued support for other stablecoins.
Bread will remain that seamless web-based app with no sign-ups, wallet connections, or KYC required
10 hours to my birthday. 🎂❤️
A few days ago, I mentioned here that I had been exploring a new product idea. Well, I'm excited to share that we're finally ready to take the first step.
In less than 10 hours, @usetipme goes live for the public.
We've completed the B2C side of the product, and it's ready for people to start using. The B2B side, which is designed to help businesses and their customers appreciate their teams, understand customer service better, and recognise the people who go the extra mile, is still being tested.
If there's one thing building companies has taught me, it's that every new year of life comes with its own lessons, challenges, growth, and opportunities. I'm grateful for everything my current age has taught me, the wins, the losses, the mistakes, the people, and the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today.
As I step into a new age, I'm choosing to keep building, keep learning, keep taking risks, and keep bringing ideas to life.
TipMe is one of those ideas I'm incredibly excited about. We're building around something simple but powerful: making it easier for people to appreciate the people who make a difference in their lives.
And now, we're almost ready to let you experience it.
Tomorrow, on my birthday, TipMe will be available for public use. And honestly, I can't think of a better way to celebrate another year of life than by putting something we've worked on into the hands of real people.
So here's my little birthday request. 🥹
If this post finds its way to your timeline, please like, repost, quote-tweet, and help me spread the word. If you have a community, a business, or friends who might find TipMe useful, please tell them about it. And when we go live, don't just watch from the sidelines - come try the product yourself.
Your repost could help us reach our first user. Your feedback could help us build something better. And your decision to try TipMe could mean more to me than you realise.
No expensive gift, no elaborate celebration. Just help me put this product out into the world and give it a chance to grow.
That would be one of the best birthday gifts you could give me. ❤️
See you in 10 hours.
We're just getting started.

I'm experimenting on a new product, and it is 80% ready as we speak, I need testers, I need 100 new people to test my product between Thursday and Saturday, if you would love to be a part of these 100 persons kindly say "Yes" in my DM.
This incident that happened yesterday made me realize that a lot of people using @BankwithLoaf knows my handle and they have my personal WhatsApp contact, but the most beautiful thing was they weren't calling or texting to yell, they were reaching out to know what went wrong.
Yesterday, @BankwithLoaf had an issue that kept the app from opening for a few hours.
As a Loafer, I know how frustrating that can be, and I’m genuinely sorry.
Thank you to everyone who reached out.
We’re back. ❤️
Go ahead and spend your crypto globally. 🌍

Hello @jefielding, I'd love to send you a message, what's the most convenient method to reach you?

My respect for salespeople has gone 1000x in the last 30 days. The truly great ones are hard to come by. It’s not a purely technical play, so it’s kind of hard to navigate as a technical person.

I’m glad to be hearing this from a technical person.
And I believe more and more people are coming to the realization that salespeople are the very backbone of whatever they are building.
Most founders I know are solving money problems inside the same bubble - I want out.
I’m looking to talk to founders in LATAM, SEA, MENA, Eastern Europe markets.
What are you building, we can compare notes and learn from each other.
Reply with your startup + region.

let me re-introduce myself
when you hear “queenie”, what comes to your mind?
here’s what i want to come to your mind:
> she’s in love with crypto and technology.
> she’s obsessed with discovering tools and projects that solve problems you didn’t even know needed solving.
she’s a social media manager, so she naturally pays attention to how projects position themselves, communicate, build communities and tell their stories.
and she can usually tell when a project has what it takes to do well or is most likely not going to make it.
most importantly, when she finds something interesting, she doesn’t just keep it to herself.
she breaks it down in a video, simplifies the complicated parts, and makes it easy enough for anyone to understand.
that’s queenie. that’s ME!!!!
curious. always discovering. always learning. always finding something new to show you.
and if you’re a founder reading this and you kinda struggle with figuring out whether your project will actually do well…
just DM me
i’ll boost your morale
lol, just kidding
but seriously, reach out. let’s get the stuffs done. ❤️
Queen is a very intelligent trader @thissdax, @promisenakpan you might want to take a look, she comes highly recommended.

Your 20s are for learning skills and building a career.
Your 30s are for building relationships and laying solid foundations.
Your 40s are for building systems and forging alliances.
For a while now, I have lost my touch with work.
Life, in general, has been overwhelming, and I have been slow with work because the work I put in doesn't always equate to the results I want to see. I couldn't quit, but I could slow down a bit. Not pause completely, but not be all the way there either. I just needed to still be in motion. However slow, I needed to keep moving.
So, I tried to sort out a couple of things that I thought might help.
I saw movies. I hung out with anyone that was available. I went on long road trips. I went clubbing. I drank. I did things I normally wouldn't do. I watched a lot of documentaries. I even prayed, cleansed myself, and tried almost everything I could think of.
But somehow, I was still missing something.
I was still waiting to get my spark back.
Then recently, I watched a documentary called A Beautiful Obsession - a story about Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.
For reasons I don't fully understand yet, that documentary did something to me.
It reminded me of what it feels like to be obsessed with something. To care deeply about the process. To keep showing up even when the results don't immediately make sense. To believe so much in what you're building that the work itself becomes part of who you are.
And for the first time in a long while, I felt something again.
A spark.
I don't know if I'm completely back yet. I don't even know if I have figured everything out.
But I know I'm moving again.
And maybe that's all I need for now.
Not to have everything figured out. Not to move at full speed. Not to force myself to become who I was overnight.
Just to keep moving.
However slow.
I think the spark will find me along the way.
When life hands you a failure, don't fold, Let your aura be so undeniable that they have no choice than to respect the bounce back.
