this absolutely rocks
This is the most incredible exchange I have ever seen on an earnings call.
It represents the best of investing.
This kind of opportunity is accessible to everyone, including you and me. No PhD required.
Was there luck involved? Sure. But was it lucky? Absolutely not.
Being the type of investor who makes this kind of investment is the first step in capturing one.
unless you're a single digit cap lining up your putt makes little to no impact and just slows everybody down. just roll it without the line
LAB: LINE vs NO LINE
Our testing revealed that marking the golf ball with a line (like 70% of our test participants reported doing) provides ZERO statistical advantage whatsoever over putting with an unmarked ball.
Come to find out...putting with a line actually makes you worse from further distances
To us, this makes total sense.
If the line is off target by only a couple degrees, it can lead to a bigger miss the further you are away from the hole.
Thoughts?
the faster you respond the more leeway you get with the response quality. ex: if you wait an hour to get back to somebody, you better have an answer ready to go. but if you get back to them within 90 seconds you get the grace to say “let us check and follow up”
first raffle I've entered, stat line: 0/1

if you have to ask for a putt, it's not good. if it were good you'd step up and roll it in
I play consistently in matches with a buddy who is plus straight up and we don't give each other putts, we just take them whenever we think it's appropriate. should be the way it is
took a BA flight London to Boston during Covid like this, asked for wine and the stewardess gave me 3 lmao
brutal development and all caused by these insane solar subsidies that ultimately mean nothing in the long run regarding energy costs
why the hell should we put a solar farm in a high density highly desirable area like Falmouth on Cape Cod? Makes no sense and this whole area will be parceled off and re-sold into housing within 20 years guaranteed
thanks for allowing a course to disappear Healy admin
Looks like goodbye to Cape Cod CC
The proposed solar project at Cape Cod Country Club cleared another hurdle this month after Governor Maura Healey signed legislation authorizing the town to accept the property as a donation and lease it back to solar developer PureSky Energy. The move advances a project that has sparked debate over whether the longstanding community golf course is the right location for the large-scale solar project.
The special act, approved on October 14, authorizes the Select Board to acquire five parcels totaling approximately 139.43 acres at Theatre Drive and Boxberry Hill Road from the owner, The New Cape Cod Country Club Inc. It also allows the town to then lease all or portions of the land to one or more companies for a solar energy-generating facility, energy storage, transmission and related infrastructure.
The legislation exempts the acquisition and disposition of the property from state procurement law. PureSky agreed to acquire the golf course property from owner David Friel and donate the designated parcels to the town, which would then lease the land back to the company for the solar project.
there is risk in every financial transaction whether the party participating knows it or not
Imagine you sunk your life savings into buying a villa but what does this mean for fuel supply or is this simply they never hedged for rising fuel prices?
"For $89 (£70) per day, residents will have rent, utilities, food, travel, and entertainment all included.
Some of the rooms on the ship can be bought for £82,000. For that, they will set sail in a basic cabin – however more luxurious options can be bagged for as much as £205,120.
The cruise company claim that the price is comparable to traditional flat ownership and even cheaper than some mortgages."
Yeah except you can likely sell that apartment with a much broader buyer pool
the cost to not only house but feed and monitor someone with failing health 24/7 365 days a year is expensive, there is no getting around it. Aging demo means this is just going to enter the zeitgeist more and more
