Building Botric.ai helping businesses measure and improve how they’re mentioned, cited, and recommended across AI search.
We’re running this study at Botric, and we’d like your input. Which brands or prompt types would you want us to test? Drop them below 👇
Do AI assistants recommend big brands over small ones?
Everyone assumes yes. Nobody has shown it with data.
At Botric we track thousands of buyer-style prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews.
So we're running a study on it, and we're writing down our hypotheses before we look at the results:
1. Within the same category, larger brands get mentioned more often than smaller ones.
2. The gap shrinks for local and niche prompts.
3. Small brands get cited mostly from their own site and review pages. Large brands get cited from editorial and community sources.
4. Among small brands, the ones with more third-party mentions show up more in answers.
We'll compare brands of similar category, exclude branded prompts, report each engine separately, and show the uncertainty. If we find nothing, we'll publish that too.
When it's done we'll share the method and the aggregated data, not just the headline.
What would you want this study to answer?
Tell me in the comments and I'll try to build it in.

1) You can find out if AI recommends your brand in 5 minutes. No tools. No signup.
"AI visibility" = how often ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude recommend you when a buyer asks.
Here's how: 🧵
2) Open ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude.
Four tabs. Same question in each.
3) The question: the exact buying prompt your customer uses.
Not your category. Your use case. "Best [X] for a [size] [type] team."
4) Count the mentions. Yours vs your top three competitors'.
Be honest: an "honorable mention" isn't a recommendation.
5) Repeat for 10 prompts.
Example result: you're cited on 1–2, a competitor on 7.
That gap is your AI visibility problem, in one page of notes.
6) The uncomfortable part: your usual analytics won't warn you.
There's often no traffic drop and no rank change. Just a shortlist you're not on.
7) Want it done in 30 seconds? Run a free check across all four at botric.ai. No signup needed to see results.
Ask ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity the same “best [your category] for [your buyer]” question.
You’ll often get three different answers from different models. Each model reads the web differently, so one “AI visibility score” hides a lot.
Check each one separately. That’s where the real gaps show up.
