Chiswick Fire Station, 1906
#DidYouKnow the first fire station in Chiswick opened in 1891? After #WWII the fire station became part of Middlesex Fire Brigade & then joined @LondonFire in 1965, when the Greater London Council was formed. More here orlo.uk/1v1A1 #LFBFireStations @HounslowFire

The controversy around Gladstone makes The Times. Think the conclusion is right. It’s cutting back on curatorial staff rather than the attempt to tap into a potentially lucrative market that’s the problem @PaulWilliams207 @fslconsult @Regenerate_SOT

Sorry, first planted in #Chiswick 1822 at Horticultural Society's garden (#RHS), given by the person who first grew it in the UK in 1816. Great piece by Jamie Compton, co-author of RHS book 'Wisteria: the Complete Guide' in B&CLHS Journal 28. On sale here: brentfordandchiswicklhs.org.…
It’s wisteria flowering season! Originally planted at Fuller’s Brewery in 1816, the wisteria around Chiswick Mall are officially the oldest in England. They started as two saplings brought over from China. #wisteria

Is the artist Jessie MacGregor (1847-1919), his sister, who lived with the family in her later years? I recently researched her for @W4BookFest. She wrote & illustrated 'Gardens of Celebrities & Celebrated Gardens' (1918) including #ChiswickHouse, #HogarthsHouse & #WalpoleHouse.
