It's so frustrating to me that people can't read context clues, or infer intent or target audiences. She's clearly talking about cutting her teeth in an adult environment in Nashville and working with older, male songwriters. She is not making a direct reference to Jack's divorce
In general, people are unable to appreciate the bigger picture or understand that not everything is a direct reference to a specific situation you know of. Ergo: Taylor talking about working with adults and listening to their problems = She's writing divorce songs with Jack.

✍🏼| Taylor on the aspect of “fame”:
“Fame, that’s sort of a byproduct of my love for music. It’s kind of like songwriter plus Nashville equals fame. It’s why a lot of people know the words to my music, which is awesome. It’s also why there’s sort of like these daily random doses of chaos that just pop up in my life every once in a while, every couple of hours. That can be kind of weird, but I have tools in place in my mind that help me navigate that and get back to true north when life feels so bizarre. Those tools are my memories and the memories that I visit most frequently when I need to return back to some semblance of remembering what normalcy is and why I do this.”
Food for thought
🚨Taylor Swift’s talks about how songwriters are people too during her induction speech at the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame:
“One thing that I did learn is that songwriters, although they possess a superhuman ability to understand and interpret the human condition and like insane levels of empathy, they are just people too, and they are people who are in a lot of ways raised me and guided me through formative years.”
Ancient texts are long since lost and it makes me sad. Maybe we should teach classes on Defining Pop Culture Events of the 2010s. Baby, they invented Gaylors.
I’ll never believe a single person actually thought this was shade. Everyone just going along with the crowd.
Alex Cooper:
"Call Her Daddy" host Alex Cooper explains why Taylor Swift’s situationship with Matty Healy may have inspired some of her most emotional songs and why situationships hurt so much.
Alex Cooper: “Taylor dated Joe for what we can understand as years, right? But all of her songs from what we can gather on The Tortured Poets Department were about Matty Healy, a situationship.”
“If Taylor is going through it, so can we.”
“With a situationship, it is totally flipped. It's all about the fantasy and possibility with none of the reality.”
“You're not mourning this person. This person didn't want to be with you. This person probably actually sucks.”
“What you're mourning is all the ways that you have built him up in your head.”
“The fantasy relationship will always be better than the real one every single damn time.”
Really rubs me the wrong way when stans try and push the idea that artists are embarrassed by, or don’t stand by their own work, because they don’t like it. Smacks of not being able to forge your own opinion for opinion’s sake. - you and your fave can be at odds and that’s fine?

In honor of #20YearsOfTaylorSwift what are your three favorite songs from Taylor Swift’s debut album?

🦋| 20 years ago today, 16-year-old Taylor Swift released her self-titled debut album and began a career that would go on to reshape music history.
Since then, she has become the first artist to win the Grammy for Album of the Year four times, earned 15 #1 albums on the Billboard 200, been named IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of the Year a record six times and created the highest-grossing tour of all time with the Eras Tour.
She became TIME’s Person of the Year, reclaimed ownership of her work, was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and, fittingly, will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame just days after marking 20 years since her debut.
From “Tim McGraw” to stadiums around the world, 20 years of songs, stories, reinvention and memories.
Happy 20 years of Taylor Swift. 🤍
In the midst of the never-ending UK/US cultural discourse, I’m reminded of how truly disgusted my beloved oomfs were when I showed them a cooked breakfast buffet in an English hotel.
I’m at the airport and these bears are literally everywhere and I’m genuinely wondering why and when Paddington became *the* symbol of London?
