Very proud of the Sanderstead u15s this year in their 1st season together. We have battled to the end through unavailable players and serious injuries. We didnt know our best squad or formations but everyone was patient and we worked hard and kept going. 1/4

Extra time starts with a conversation.
Today marks World Suicide Prevention Day.
Break the silence, ask those around you if they're ok. ❤️💙

Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK takes their own life, and 1 in 4 of us will have suicidal thoughts.
Having that first conversation can make all the difference, which is why we’re proud to support the @premierleague #TogetherAgainstSuicide campaign.

Hi Grassroots, I wasn't going to write this but I wanted to get it off my chest. It’s the last few days of the summer holidays. We’re trying to enjoy a bank holiday away and spend some much-needed time together as a family.
But my husband—a volunteer grassroots coach—has just received a lengthy message from a parent saying their child has had a “better offer” and won’t be returning.
The season starts in a few days.
There had been no problem, no warning and no conversation. The only obvious difference is that the new team has the word “Academy” in its name.
Now he has almost no time to find another player, reorganise the team or make sure the remaining children aren’t affected.
He’s sitting here absolutely devastated when he should be relaxing with his family.
Because to you, it might be one message and a move to another team.
To him, it’s the child he has coached, encouraged and cared about. It’s the hours spent planning sessions, gaining qualifications, arranging fixtures, registering players, washing kit, maintaining pitches and making sure every child feels valued.
It’s the evenings he has sacrificed, the weekends he has given up and the money he has quietly spent when the team needed something.
Volunteer coaches don’t simply turn up for an hour. They carry their teams with them every day.
They talk about the players at home. They worry about their confidence. They celebrate their progress. They give up precious family time because they genuinely care.
Of course, children can move teams. But please remember there is a human being on the other end of that message—someone who has invested far more than you may ever realise.
A conversation and a little notice cost nothing.
Grassroots coaches give so much to our children. The very least we can give them in return is honesty, respect and a little consideration. ⚽️

These points are frighteningly accurate. Clubs are deliberately looking at long standing supporters, taking away long fought for rights and making basic things like season tickets a weapon to remove rather than a part of "ownership" and support of the club.
A study was done over a decade ago and they are right, stadiums are full of people my age, with previous few avenues for youngsters, the vibrant future of any club, to congregate together as a large, noisy, feisty and sometimes intimidating group.
I'm surprised Palace owners have let it get this far because with greatest respect to a club I started at, 90's Palace was old, Surrey based and "nice". HF undoubtedly have made Selhurst a prickly place to play so their attendance is proof that embracing positive supporter change works. And works well.
Going to be honest, not a fan of the mimickery by English supporters of European Ultras groups per se, we have a 150 year old raw, passionate culture and we do things differently, so that's my tuppence on the "look" of groups like HF rather than the extremely valid points they make, which I support 100%.
We've just come off the $1000 a ticket World Cup, we know tourists from afar's spend is more valuable to clubs that a season ticket holder who doesn't need to spend £600 in the shop, and we know that through a cost of living crisis, youngsters are finding cheaper teams to support ( a very welcome unintended consequence of Prem pricing) or move away from football entirely.
If I were shouting still on radio this is exactly the debate we'd be having tonight, rattling cages of those in power, inviting guests into squirm a little as they try to defend pricing, strategy and bringing more youngsters into stadia. Alas, the Premier League, like FIFA and UEFA want only happy clappy official broadcasters to " tell them how great we are ", so you won't find HF statement being answered by anyone relevant in football, they just ignore and ride it out. It's why we are where we are now.
I hope HF reconsider, and I hope good people like @CEO4TAG can find a solution, we need more, not less HF.
Football without hardcore fans, is nothing.
Football without tourists, is fine.
Look after those who've looked after uou for 150 years. Today, tomorrow and in the future. It's why English football IS so special.
Well done boys and big congratulations to croydon district boy Isaac playing years up plus other boys 🙌🔴🔵
Future looks good 👌
Congratulations to our U14s, winners of the Orange Vein Cup in Belgium this weekend! 🏆
After topping the group, we beat FC Dordrecht in the semi-final before defeating hosts OH Leuven 3-1 in the final.
A fantastic achievement for Michael Kamara, his staff and the team!
