A reminder as we are in the midst of a peaking respiratory virus season that every school just crammed every student and staff member into one room for a 40min assembly and no one mentioned current public health advice to wear a mask in crowded settings. covid19resources.ca/covid-ha…

Politicians don’t get to dictate what is taught and researched at Canadian colleges and universities. Research and institutional funding shouldn’t come with political strings attached. #StopNSBill12: ansut.ca/bill-12/

It’s not that I disagree and that seems to me to be implied by the source but here’s last year vs this year.

What’s this nonsense. Automatic tax filing works well in many countries and would save citizens time and money. This “taxpayer” group is out of touch with normal citizens.

Argues with me, makes no sense, thinks I’m in US then doubles down. Can’t click on links or look at a profile and assumes “Halifax” is in UK despite prices being in dollars. Has a fit at being called out and blocks me when he started the nonsense. Gotta love blue check geniuses.

David Dingwall on CBC this morning regarding CBU, remember he was in cabinet when Crétien/Martin massively cut federal funding for post-secondary education. This along with provincial cuts led PSE institutions to seek other funding like expanding international student recruitment

Never forget this was Dr. Strang 2020: "They [NSGEU] are frankly using fear, fear mongering and hyperbole in terms of the way they're describing this situation [at Northwood]." Then 53 people died.

“But government can only do so much” - Tim Houston #nspoli
For less than $900, a senior woman avoided eviction today while also struggling with treatment for a serious illness. Actively preventing evictions, or diverting someone to their home community and supports, is an effective way to stem the flow into homelessness.

Next time he says there’s no money for something, that government can’t fix everything, that we can’t afford to help people, remember he caused the problem by giving the people who have the most to spend a discount on their discretionary spending. #nspoli
Here I am comforting an old person who doesn’t have anyone to change their catheter. Oh yeah, HST is now 14%. #nspoli

Council doesn’t like the traffic at Payzant/Wentworth but now they want a fence so no one would want to walk - it’s a long way around. It doesn’t make sense. A letter won’t fix poor planning. A 30min walk is ridiculous when the straight line distance is half.
