If you’re annoyed by 35 people walking home from Church on a Sunday, you are the problem
Not the folk wishing to express their right to do so
Well done Portadown District, an end to this absolute farce is in sight
Here we stand we can do no other

Peaceful. Lawful. Dignified. Thousands have gathered in Portadown tonight to show their support for the local Orangemen. Fellow citizens who had their cultural rights denied by sectarian attitudes and lawlessness. Michelle O’Neill must face consequences for her actions.

The “peaceful protest” on Garvaghy Road was an illegal road block intent on denying the human rights of their fellow citizens. It was sinister, intimidating, and far from peaceful. Two cars were positioned in the middle of the road. Many people covered their faces. According to the organiser, petrol bombs were made in preparation of a showdown. Threats were also made by politicians about a “day of reckoning.”
Portadown OO removed every cause for concern ever cited about their parade. 8am, thousands reduced to 35. Bands, flags, supporters - all gone.
Republicans refused to talk, protested unlawfully, called thousands onto streets & now threatening peace elsewhere.
So who's the problem?

Sinn Féin are progressive, Eóin?
Glorifying terrorism, honouring convicted terrorists, encouraging people to break the law and standing alongside those convicted of murder.
Is that Alliance’s definition of progressivism?
A socially liberal, progressive party voting more often with other progressive parties than with conservative and right-wing parties.
Shock horror.
The votes were on conversion therapy, housing, regulation of flags and emblems, and the future of our environment.
Take off the orange and green goggles for a second, Paul. It’s tedious.

When the police are unable to police, when the courts are ignored by the mob, when First Ministers march against their own laws and when Justice ministers tell the law abiding they should accept anarchy, is anyone winning?
⚠️💥NEW DRUMCREE: Naomi Long - Policing operation ‘costing millions. Maybe it’s time for the Orange Order to walk away. They’ve got their win.’
🎥🎤Justice Minister and @allianceparty leader @naomi_long says she is very concerned about how much the policing operation at Drumcree, along with court time, is costing.
She told Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 that 'we simply don’t have that money' and that it is being taken away “from other services”.
She made clear that she wants to see a mediated solution, with people able to get back to their normal lives.

The Orange Order stands for faith, heritage, charity and family. It is not your enemy. It is nothing like the sectarian monster people want you to believe. Nor is it seeking domination over anyone. It is made up of your neighbours, colleagues and fellow citizens. You may not share its ethos, or subscribe to its views, but calling it sectarian or fascist is a vicious lie. A deliberate smear not based on truth but on hate. Hatred of a culture and tradition because it is not your own.

“Confidence in who we are gives us the freedom to celebrate the richness of others. Culture need not divide us; at its best, it invites us to listen, to learn, and to discover.”
Our cultural identity threatens no one. It is rich, full of music, song, dance and tradition. Of our history and heritage. It is something to be deeply proud of, and we wear who we are with that pride, love and celebration.
To see it opposed, demonised and hated is appalling for so many.
This goes right to the heart of the future of what this place looks like.
Our future must be one based on tolerance and respect. I have heard my traditions and identity talked about, shouted about, so offensively, so appallingly, with absolute hate. With the anger of deep bitterness and bile.
That is not the future. It is the worst of the past.
No one is forcing anyone to agree with or to embrace it, what is required is just basic respect of the cultural traditions of another.
I said the quote above this summer - it was a challenge to us all, including those who oppose British and unionist culture. That seemed to be lost on some.
To those who have demonstrated such deep hatred of Orange, band, unionist and British identity - it is shameful, it is not “right” and it is not justified.
This week demonstrates we still have so far to come.
