Congratulations to Paul Bracher @ChemBarkPaul @BracherLab @SLUChemDept @SLU_Official and Christopher Hamilton @UArizonaLPL @uarizona for “Rocky Roads: Flow Pathways and Chemical Evolution in Vesicular Lava and Pumice.”
Congrats to Hayden and Kevin M. for graduating @SLUChemDept today with their B.S. degrees. Good luck in grad school!
On Friday, we celebrated Kevin’s successful M.S. defense. Graduation is right around the corner. Congrats!

The #evolution of a single #biopolymer gets much attention, but co-evolution might have been the thing! New data shows how RNA and proto-peptides stabilize each other! go.nature.com/2zKugLc @NSF #NSFfunded @GTSciences @scrippsresearch #RNAworld @NASAAstrobio

Big plans for improving our Twitter content and finally updating the group website this summer. Here’s our most recent group photo (adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines)!
Christine is the best! It has been an absolute privilege for all of us at SLU to work with her and the Center for the past three years. We'll be following @GaTechEnergy and looking for any excuse possible to visit Atlanta.
So excited to share that our Managing Dir is taking a new role @GaTechEnergy. She will be sorely missed at CCE where her encouragement, logistical prowess & positivity have made such a huge impact. Thanks for everything, Christine! b.gatech.edu/2HarOxv @GT_Sciences @GT_CHEM
Check out our paper on origin-of-life chemistry published today in @NatureComms, “Prebiotic condensation through wet–dry cycling regulated by deliquescence”. It’s a collaboration among us, @DrJayTweets, and @4ChemEvolution. #NSFfunded Free access: rdcu.be/bS1gd. (1/7)
We can’t think of another organic reaction where increasing the humidity of the room from 30 %RH to 50% RH has no effect, but increasing the humidity from 50 %RH to 70 %RH results in a ten-fold improvement in yield. (6/7)
Also, we have an immediate opening for a postdoc to work on the origin of life on organic worlds, like Saturn’s moon Titan. Interested candidates with experience in organic synthesis and NMR/IR/MS should contact Paul ASAP at [email protected]. #chemjobs @chemjobber (7/7)
