Lexington, Kentucky and the entire Bluegrass deserve our own newspaper. I’m seriously thinking about putting together a group to make an offer on the once great @heraldleader. What do y’all think?

This is priceless. Check out how local news is reporting on Sen Eric Schmidt’s clown-show grilling of Jack Smith. They found Jack Smith at the game… “Top corner, section 109, row 1. In fact, that seat doesn’t even exist in Atlanta.”

And he remains what Keller described (and I'm not a big fan of Keller). Yes, there's a literalist school of Christian thinking that says you must describe the afterlife with very specific ideas, but there are seminaries & Sunday School classes and family dinners (cont'd...)
For the record, this is the man Keller told us offered a “brilliant example of how to be Christian in the public square.” This is why I say concern regarding the inability Keller sometimes had to rightly discern a sound Christian witness from an unsound one is justified. It’s the same issue he ran into with his promotion of Francis Collins and Greg Johnson. So it wasn’t just what Keller taught himself that was sometimes an issue, it was also those he recommended we learned from.

where faithful Christians dig into the "what is it like?" question. They read the mystics, they study biology and physics, & sometimes they just look at Colossians' language (as I do), and describe what is beyond our imagining as "The Reconciliation of all Things" (cont'd...)

I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had for ecumenical formation. It taught me not only to disagree well and articulate my beliefs & it taught me the folly of accusing someone who is clearly Christian--but in a way that not my way--of being a non-Christian. Doubt is a gift.

I can’t imagine almost any Trump voters voted for him so he could give $2 billion of taxpayers money to random supporters of his But that’s what they get…and some (likely in the mentions) will defend it like they are rooting for their sports teams

Mclellan is right on here. When I read scripture before a sermon, I invite the congregation to "listen for God's Word in these words." People with the ears to hear realize the distinction I'm making.
Lol. According to the Bible, the "word of God" is either the messages from God independent of the medium or Jesus. Scripture as text is never once referred to as the "word of God" in the Bible & nothing called "the Bible" existed when the texts of the Bible were being written.

I'm so sick of these guys; their ignorance of historic Christianity; their mind-killing habit of calling any concern with poverty "Marxism"; the Mammon-worship they call a religion.
Marxist garbage, coming from the Pope. Perhaps he might mention how the CCP persecute Christians and crush dissent with murder and "organ harvesting". But that wouldn't play as well. Is he getting his talking points from Obama & Axelrod? YIKES.

Catholic social teaching doesn't easily conform to the left/right binary shorthand of American political punditry. Frankly, I'm reminded of how Pope John Paul II, whose home was Poland, pushed hard against the violence of the USSR. But...no one's a prophet in their hometown.
So maybe I don’t get this because I’m not Catholic, but even if I believed this story, the pope is obviously a lefty. He blessed a piece of ice in honor of climate change for Pete’s sake. I don’t get why the Trump Admin would want him at any events.

I think, in the future, Christians should treat pastors who supported Trump as though they, say, wrote an op-ed arguing that ten year olds should use heroin. You absolutely cannot trust their judgment. You don't have to hate them but they clearly cannot be trusted with any moral

The cross is part of the mission. The imperialist occupation of the world is disrupted from within; the violence that until now has been the law is unmasked. The poor, imprisoned, and rejected Messiah descends into the darkness of death, yet in so doing He brings a new creation to light. #HolyThursday
