Amazed that Lu Dort is still +1000 on FanDuel to win Defensive Player of the Year.
He SHOULD be the favorite.
Here’s why: 👇
Comically, if you pull up NBA.com’s player defensive ratings, filter for players who have played a minimum of 25 games and 15 minutes per game, the top six players are on the Thunder. That’s how dominant this team has been.
Perhaps the voters don't get behind the best defensive player on a historically excellent defensive team, but the odds are currently too long. @BillSimmons noted that if he voted today, he would vote for Dort.
At current odds of +1000 to win the award, Dort is a good bet.
