Did you know U.S. military veterans, current service members and their families are eligible to receive free access to more than 2,000 federal recreation sites? There are two types of America the Beautiful military passes: military annual and military lifetime. Annual passes provide free access for current military and dependents. The lifetime pass is for gold star families and U.S. military veterans. These passes grant access to national parks, national wildlife refuges and other federally managed lands that charge for use. It’s one small way to honor military service and help those families connect with the land they helped protect. Learn more or order your pass now by searching ‘USGS military pass.’ USFWS photo

The 2020 election in Georgia, which President Donald Trump has repeatedly and falsely claimed he won, has cast a long shadow over state politics. But several Republicans who have kept the controversy alive lost their elections Tuesday, potentially knocking wind out of the denialism that’s fueled politics for the better part of a decade. Some Republicans have embraced Trump’s spurious election rigging claims. Some say they’re merely skeptical that Trump lost the state in 2020 or they try to avoid speaking about it. But many voters had already moved on from the election, University of Georgia political scientist Charles Bullock said. “I think a lot of Republicans have also moved beyond that and didn’t think that Donald Trump’s continuing to talk about it was at all helpful,” he said. Trump’s fixation may never fade, and he has packed his administration with allies who have echoed his election conspiracies and wielded the federal government to investigate his 2020 grievances. Asking RFK Jr “tough questions” is no longer enough. The president should ask for his resignation. If that doesn’t happen, Congress should impeach the HHS Sec.
Bernie Sanders is "absolutely open to" impeaching HHS Secretary RFK Jr. "We need a Secretary of HHS who is concerned about the health and well-being of our kids and all Americans, not involved in crazy conspiracy theories."

Now that Blanche is done spending all his time on the campaign trail for Republicans in Congress, he’s freed up to defend Trump Administration corruption full time. Thankfully the top federal law enforcement officer doesn’t have anybody else he has to worry about.
wow -- Blanche on Fox News Sunday claims oversight from Democrats is "not the way this country can survive or live with these ongoing threats ... if you work in this administration, you have a lawyer. It's me." (Note that at the end even the Fox News host is a bit taken aback by Blanche's rhetoric ... )

Man who corruptly abuses government power to persecute his boss's critics purports to be troubled by overzealous Congressional oversight. – at Woodside, PA
.@AGToddBlanche on Democrats: "They've threatened donors, they've threatened individuals who are in college and might want to work for conservative institutions or for a conservative government or for President Trump, and that is extremely troubling. It should be troubling to everybody in this country."

This is why I keep saying this isn’t something I did. The people did it. So glad the nation is getting to see Mississippi and all its fierceness. #MississippiMatters
Young Black women in rural Mississippi are trying like hell to make sure no ballot gets thrown out unfairly in the Scott Colom race. They are DMing friends and chasing down people who need to verify their IDs. My story (gift link) on the phenomenon: wapo.st/4AbqTpg

Talarico is just really really smart. archive.org/details/riseofco…
James Talarico traces 50 years of trickle-down back to one 1971 document, the Powell memo, a corporate blueprint to buy power “In fact, you can, you can pinpoint this one document called the Powell memo, 1971.” “But if you read this memo, it's basically a blueprint for how corporate interests can start to dismantle the Great Society and the New Deal” “They're going to spend massive amounts of money in our politics, buying politicians in both parties, elevate corporate voices in media, appoint sympathetic judges.” “And that has really been the story of the last 50 years in this country, last five decades.” w/ @jamestalarico

One of the things I’ve been thinking about since the election is that most of the Democrats elected this past week will outlast Donald Trump. He has been such a foil for Democrats that it’s important to think about what these Democrats will do once he is no longer there to define their agenda. I spoke about that with Georgia Gov elect Keisha Lance Bottoms but also what her win means in the south and for her personally. Watch! youtu.be/xs5kwuQcFgo?si=Q-Dl…

Today's update. DEMs have gained 534 seats in state legislatures; Republicans have lost 547. 109 seats have yet to be called; half are in states with mail votes still coming in (WA/CA/UT/NY/MD/AK), and the other half are seats going to recounts. Democrats gained a supermajority in the Maine Senate. projects.statenavigate.com/2…
