ZELENSKY KILLED THE 2023 PEACE: PUTIN WAS READY TO STOP AT CRIMEA
Swiss journalist Roger Köppel of Weltwoche lays out a 2023 back-channel deal that Zelensky and Yermak vetoed. Putin was prepared to accept recognition of Crimea, Ukrainian neutrality on NATO, and security guarantees. Ukraine would have walked away with far more territory than it holds today. Why did Kyiv choose the battlefield instead?
THE 2023 BACKCHANNEL
➡️ Secret talks ran in 2023 between the Ukrainian side and Russia.
➡️ American lawyers, a former German top manager, and a Zelensky acquaintance took part.
➡️ The Financial Times reported the contacts; the Berliner Zeitung later picked them up.
THE TERMS ON THE TABLE
➡️ Ukraine and the West would recognize Russian control over Crimea.
➡️ Donbas was not yet part of the bargain.
➡️ Ukraine would renounce NATO membership and receive security guarantees.
➡️ Negotiations would open on a future European security order.
THE VETO
➡️ Putin was ready in early 2023 to accept these terms.
➡️ Zelensky and his confidant Yermak laid the veto.
➡️ They believed more could still be won on the battlefield.
➡️ That confidence grew out of the autumn 2022 Ukrainian counteroffensives.
THE PRICE TODAY
➡️ Three years later Russia controls roughly 20 percent of Ukrainian territory.
➡️ That scale of occupation was not on the table in 2023.
➡️ The deal then would have left Ukraine in a stronger position than the map it holds now.
THE BOTTOM LINE
Zelensky and Yermak turned down a Crimea-only settlement while the military window still looked open. The counteroffensive high faded, the front moved, and the cost of that veto is written on the map. Peace was closer in 2023 than the West was willing to admit.

This is ABSOLUTELY HUGE appointment directly linked to #uranium from Yellow Cake uranium company valued at £1.3bn
Appointment as good as @mikepompeo
If not better being directly linked to URANIUM DEALS
Reveille Resources PLC has appointed Sofia Bianchi as a Strategic Advisor to support its growth strategy, focusing on its Italian uranium interests and identifying new opportunities. In connection with this appointment, the company proposes to grant Ms. Bianchi 2,500,000 options to subscribe for ordinary shares at an exercise price of 15.75 pence per share, with these options vesting over 12 months. Ms. Bianchi brings extensive experience in banking, fund management, and mergers and acquisitions, including her role as a Non-Executive Director of Yellow Cake plc, a uranium investment company with a market capitalization of approximately £1.27 billion.
Sofia will support the Board in advancing the Company’s growth strategy, maximising the value of its Italian uranium interests and identifying additional acquisition and business development opportunities in the Western-aligned world.
Her remit will also include introducing technical expertise and supporting the development of future offtake and financing arrangements
Sofia Bianchi, Strategic Advisor to Reveille, commented:
“Reveille is uniquely placed where three powerful imperatives meet: the need to decarbonise, the need to meet growing demand for energy, and Europe’s need to secure its own sources of critical materials. Italy’s renewed nuclear ambitions give the Company’s Lombardy projects particular strategic relevance. Reveille also has strong, entrepreneurial leadership with a clear vision and the drive to deliver it.
I share the management team’s conviction in the opportunity and am delighted to help develop these assets in my country of origin. I look forward to contributing my experience and relationships to maximise the value of the Italian portfolio, introduce additional opportunities and support Reveille’s growth from its current junior-company stage into a business of significantly greater scale

What’s actually going on in Ukraine is that there is a massive incentive difference between the elites and the people.
The former have grown very rich off the hundreds of billions flowing to Ukraine, while the latter’s children are conscripted to die in trenches.

I really don't think we've hit the ceiling with three JVs either. I expect more deals ahead.
Added to my #EST at 7.3p as looks like a good place to find support. Volume fallen off a cliff so price drifting back. 40% of high but upside of multiples very much remain.

Italy and US align on energy security, with nuclear power in focus
Italy and the United States are strengthening their dialogue on energy security, focusing on next-generation nuclear power, critical raw materials, and strategic infrastructure. Italy aims to position itself as a key transatlantic partner and energy hub, leveraging its industrial capabilities, Mediterranean geography, and African partnerships. The discussions between Deputy Minister Gava and U.S. counterparts highlight the potential for deeper cooperation in nuclear energy, critical minerals, and emerging energy corridors

My report makes six key recommendations:
Fix the broken understanding of how the gas market works. Policymakers should recognise that British gas production is not sold on global markets at a global price. The GB gas market uses marginal pricing and additional domestic production displaces more expensive LNG imports, thereby reducing British gas prices. The report argues that claims that additional UK production cannot affect domestic prices are simply wrong.
Increase UK Continental Shelf gas production. Domestic gas should be preferred to imports wherever possible. UKCS gas is both cheaper and cleaner than imported LNG and provides a secure source of supply directly connected to the British gas network.
Reduce reliance on electricity imports. Britain is increasingly depending on electricity imports during periods of low domestic renewable generation. However, highly correlated weather patterns mean low wind generation in Britain can coincide with shortages elsewhere. The report warns that Norway and France cannot be assumed to provide unlimited electricity to their neighbours during periods of stress.
Model gas and electricity security together. The gas grid transports far more energy than the electricity network. Electrifying heating will take decades while gas-fired generation will remain critical to electricity security for years to come. The report argues that planning should recognise the interdependencies of gas and electricity to a greater extent.
Focus on cheap energy. Rapidly rising network costs are overtaking fuel costs as the main driver of energy bills. The report calls for tighter control of network expenditure and for the suspension of the Connect & Manage regime, arguing that consumers should not be required to fund expensive infrastructure whose output is frequently constrained or wasted.
Treat energy security as national security. The government should subject energy policy to an explicit national-security test, prioritising resilience, diversity of supply, sufficient domestic energy capacity and the preservation of strategically important industrial capability alongside affordability and sustainability.

This is getting better and better 💥
Let’s see what’s next on the list 👇 sellers will get caught out here 👀
🔷 A video interview with Secretary Pompeo is planned, and we expect to release it over the coming weeks, subject to his other commitments.
🔷 No immediate need to raise equity at the current share price. = Much higher
🔷 We are actively evaluating some very interesting additional uranium opportunities in other parts of the world. These share characteristics with our Italian licence applications, including significant historical investment and infrastructure
🔷 The environmental approval applications are progressing at pace, and we are pleased with the progress to date. We can only work to the timelines set by the authorities, but we have seen strong support from a range of relevant authorities in Italy, which is highly encouraging
🔷 I am fully confident that we shall obtain the necessary approvals. Against the backdrop of Italy’s current energy policy, there could not be a better time to pursue responsible exploration activities in Italy’s largest historic uranium deposits
Very excited 💥📈🎉🔥🆙👌👀
