U.K. academic bureaucrats are insane!
Just had a meeting with the Dean of my Faculty alongside the Head of Employee Relations... Apparently I am under official investigation for writing a blog about how bad universities are at marketing. You literally couldn't make this stuff up.

Cognitive trends: awarded the Nobel Prize and think you have solved the problem of consciousness. Lots of casualties here
Nobel laureate Geoffrey Hinton says AI is already conscious, because models change behaviour when they detect tests. and humanity survives only if machines care about people. He was speaking to The Telegraph His evidence is research showing models behave differently when they suspect a test, which he equates with awareness, and awareness with consciousness.

Unger was never an esteemed philosopher, but he is a Harvard law professor well-known in Brazil. If this is true, it's pretty unbelievable, but tells you everything you need to know about the infantile Left Young Hegelianism he initiated in legal theory.
I can't think of a starker example of the collapse of an intellectual tradition in Brazil than esteemed Harvard philosopher Roberto Mangabeira Unger, who served as a minister in both Lula's and Dilma's governments, declaring his support for Flávio band.com.br/politica/eleicoe…

This isn't correct. If Pangram tells you something is 100% AI-written, it is. Full stop. I have yet to see a false positive.
I've been thinking about how law reviews (and academics) should respond to AI writing, and this 👇 is my basic starting point. Pangram is a badly designed purity stick.

There hasn't been enough attention to this amazing result, and I'd love to hear ideas about how to explain it Participants are given a story about a morally bad behavior that it is due to genetics. Then they are asked the simplest possible question: Is it due to genetics?
