We’ve joined @jrf_uk and 90 other charities to call on party leaders to guarantee #OurEssentials for families on low incomes. Carer’s Allowance and the basic rate of Universal Credit must be increased to ensure carers can afford essential goods like food and utilities.

If more over 50s are to be encouraged back to work, unpaid carers should be better supported to juggle work & care. As well as Government’s support of the Carer’s Leave Bill, @Jeremy_Hunt must look at ways to reduce barriers in the benefits system as part of his #SpringStatement.
