Pride Month History:
The modern LGBTQ rights movement in the United States started during the civil rights era. It was widely known to be spring boarded by the Stonewall Riots, which occurred June 28th,1969.
This event was at the historic Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village, New York City. That night, police raided the bar, ousting and arresting hundreds of patrons, many of whom were drag queens and queer people of color.
The Stonewall Riots were the catalyst for the First Pride parades held in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in 1970.

June is Pride Month!
This month Bridges is celebrating and empowering the LGBTQ community, as well as, honoring the history of the LGBTQ rights movement.
Happy Pride Month!
June 12th is World Day Against Child Labor. It is an international day of awareness, started by the International Labour Organization in 2002, aiming to raise awareness and activism to eradicate child labor.
This day brings together governments, local authorities, civil society, international workers and employer organizations to point out the problems with child labor, create guidelines to help child laborers, and push forward the movement to prevent it.
Some forms of child labor include, but are not limited to, agricultural labor, slavery, drug and sex trafficking, and involvement in armed conflict. At Bridges, we are here to support victims /survivors of child trafficking.
