I won't be posting here any more. I'm incompetently on Insta and checking out BlueSky. Thanks for the friendship, fun and discussion.
Beautiful gills of meadow waxcap at Southerscales @yorkshire_dales today.
Unplug the juke box and do yourself a favour.
Happy 70th birthday to pop hero of my childhood, Adam Ant. Here’s a few bars of ’Antmusic’ stride piano style. #AdamAnt @adamaofficial
I first met Satwant on Skyrides back in the day when we were both ride leaders. I guess he was about 65 then. It's still a pleasure to see him active around Bradford on two wheels. A real community champion.

A morning of domestic hedgelaying. This gnarly hawthorn was hard to get onto the ground and I didn't manage what I hoped with it. Ah, well.
A couple more of these woodchip key fobs today. They're a compelling thing to make and a great way to practice chip carving.
The confected "the public must be told" outrage of Badenoch and Jenrick, hinting at cover-up, only plays to the swivel-eyed prejudices their Reform-leaning, conspiracy theorist constituency. Dangerous.

After 12 months of attacking UN premises, even as they were sheltering IDPs, sick persons and peacekeepers; killing over 200 UN staff in less than 1 year; vilifying and defaming senior UN officials and organisations; a parliamentary act that outlaws the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, a UN subsidiary organ of the UN General Assembly, is a fatal and intolerable blow for the UN Charter and the multilateral system. The aim is to accelerate the erasure of Palestinian presence, including through unconscionable humanitarian consequences.
May this affront be the straw that breaks the camel's back, and may it mark the beginning of the end of Israel's impunity.

“I must inform you that [@UNRWA] is under such physical, political, and operational attack – unprecedented in UN 🇺🇳 history – that implementation of its mandate may become impossible without decisive intervention by the UNGA” says @UNLazzarini unrwa.org/newsroom/official-…
I'm enjoying making these key fobs. A good opportunity to practice chip-carving. Relatives are moving house soon so I hope they like this, for good luck in their new home.

I bought these old RSPB magazines for their CF Tunnicliffe cover pictures. They look so good together (with that delicious typeface!)

✨ We’ve just completed the purchase of part of the Rothbury Estate in Northumberland in partnership with @NorthWildlife ✨ Including Simonside Hills, popular with many Northumbrians, it’s home to rare wildlife including curlews and red squirrels 🐿️ (1/2)
Made some key fobs today. My kids seem to struggle not to lose keys though, usually, they turn up. Hopefully these will be ones they can keep hold of.
Turns out I whacked my knee pretty hard when I came off my bike on Saturday.
An x-ray revealed no fractures so it's POLICE protocol for a couple of days.
Back to some physio & on the bike soon, I hope. Those #ASingleMap grid squares won't find themselves.
Another #ASingleMap quest completed today around Rivock Edge. A bit of an adventure, this one. Tricky nav and a high speed tumble. Still smiling though.
- An ancient bridge
- Birds of Prey
- A Stanza Stone, and
gorgeous whether. And, this time, the company of my boy. ❤

A "meh" sort of day despite the fine weather. Frittered too much away in social media land. Tomorrow we go again. This was time well spent though.

As drivers we have a responsibility to look out for other road users, especially as darker nights draw in.
💡 Ensure your lights are working
👀Take extra time to check the road is clear
🚗Reduce speed if conditions are poor

Boring? Related to my #ASingleMap quest a friend challenged me to find the least featured grid square on my map. SE 1044 was top candidate with very little to see at 1:50000. Though at 1:25000 more interest was apparent. The Two Eggs, the remains of a cross and Sweet Well.
This grid square (SE 1044), at 1:50000 scale, has the least to draw the eye on my 20x20km map. An undulating slope and some watercourses. But at 1:25000 there's a little more interest. It's got to be worth a visit on my #ASingleMap quest.
And south west. Back towards the cuttings and bridge ramp at Bradup Beck, over the Aire Valley, and Thwaites Brow and Harden Moor, along the Roman Road to Manchester. #ASingleMap
Finally, Sweet Well. Source of Sweet Well Dike. Tributary of Morton Beck and the mighty Aire. It's burbling away in there somewhere. I got wet feet. I didn't take a drink. #ASingleMap
Thanks @AidanSevers for sending me on a quest to find a Roman road in a boring grid square. 🙂
