Unfortunately a fact. Türkiye’s EU accession bid was killed by racism and Islamophobia early in its accession process.
Türk bakan Hakan Fidan: ▪️Türkiye şartları karşılasa bile Avrupa Birliği’nde Türkiye’yi üye yapacak siyasi irade yok. ▪️Bu süreç 2007’de Sarkozy döneminde fiilen bitirildi..

President Trump and Ambassador Tom Barrack have displayed visionary leadership and pragmatism alongside valued NATO ally Türkiye. Türkiye has played an instrumental role in assisting Syria’s stabilization after over a decade of mass murder under butcher Assad, who correctly fled to Moscow. We don’t sanction friends. We work together for a better future.

You guys are too young to remember.. But Macron was alligning France with Russia in practical support of Haftar, while Turkey was backing the NATO, UN, EU engaged Libyan gov.. But we were still reading articles on how Turkey was betraying West and NATO in Libya.. Those were the days..
Except that there is really no military threat to Greece from Turkey.. and if there was, NATO would be the main framework to deescalate and stop the madness.. A symbolic French presence means nothing if this was genuinely a risk or an issue.. This is more about France’s East Med ambitions and positioning.

The Greek Cypriots didn’t accept Annan Plan and stormed out of Crans Montana talks despite Turkey agreeing a gradual pull out of troops.
Dear Charles, since you are talking about double standards, let me remind you that Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974, and still occupies European territory, 🇨🇾🇪🇺

AIPAC PROSTITUTE says what?
Turkey, the country that funds Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, hates Israel, loves Russia and Iran…good luck getting the F35, F16, and any other American made defense platform. I told Erdoğan in 2018 and I tell him again: you’re NOT getting the F35.

Turkey does not love Russia or Iran, in fact they are adversaries.. Turkey does not fund Hamas or Muslim Brotherhood.. Turkey already has one of the largesr F16 fleets in the world.. and hosts US nukes.. and radar systems that provide missile defence intelligence.. Fair to criticise Ankara on many issues.. And yes, Turkey and Israel are now direct competitors for regional influence.. These polemics do not serve US interests as it seeks to untangle itself from a war it did got pulled in, a NATO it wants other members to play an active role..

Israel’s propagandists in DC are now openly calling for an Israeli preemptive attack against Turkiye. Are they serious people? No they are clowns, but they are exactly the clowns that got the US into the war in Iran

Anyone with an iota of understanding of foreign policy would recognize how insane this comparison is, given that Turkey has one of NATO’s largest standing militaries and a robust domestic defense industry spanning drones, air defense, and naval assets. Framing this through a 1967 lens is not serious analysis and I’m sure deep down Rubin knows that. But this “analysis” is meant to serve a purpose, which is to normalize preemptive war rhetoric against Turkey so that any Isreali escalation (if it were to ever come to that) is framed as a logical next step rather than a manufactured one.

That is why Turkey immediately shot down a Russian fighter jet when it entered Turkish airspace in 2015, kept Russia and Iran out of opposition-controlled areas in northern Syria for more than ten years while Netanyahu did the exact opposite in southern Syria in 2018 (!!)...

Galatasaray’ın bu sezon puan kaybettiği maçlardan sonra hakemlerin bir sonraki hafta Süper Lig’de maç alamama istatistiği devam ediyor. Oğuzhan Çakır tüm maçı Galatasaray’a hediye etmesine rağmen puan kaybettikleri için 1. lig maçına atandı. @MHK_Resmi

Calling Turkey a “terrorist state” isn’t analysis it’s propaganda. A NATO member fighting groups like ISIS doesn’t fit that label. As for the European Union the issue has always been politics, not slogans.
Replying to @DuhaSena

NEXTA has a tendency to align more with a pro-Israeli perspectives, so it’s not surprising to see them push this manufactured narrative, as this rhetoric is only serving Israel’s regional agendas. However, what’s disturbing is watching them continue to attempt to legitimize this nonsense even after legacy media like The Telegraph was forced to delete an article that falsely claimed Erdoğan wanted to go to war with Israel. At this point there’s no other way to see this other than as a deliberate choice by NEXTA to mislead the public.
Is Turkey preparing for war with Israel? Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has threatened possible military intervention against Israel. According to him, Ankara may launch military action if it believes Israel is trying to expel Palestinians from their territories.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The claim that Erdogan recently threatened military intervention against Israel is false. It originated from a retracted Telegraph article using an out-of-context 2024 quote. Turkish officials denied any such threat. middleeasteye.net/news/telegraph… dailysabah.com/politics/diplo… greekcitytimes.com/2026/04/14/erd…

My latest for Türkiye Today, during an onslaught of disinformation from Israeli political figures like Naftali Bennett on religious realities within Turkish society, I draw on years living in Türkiye as a Catholic to offer a different perspective. The narrative portraying the country as “the next Iran” does not represent the lived reality of Christian continuity, and pluralism I experienced firsthand. turkiyetoday.com/opinion/my-…

If Loomer is so concerned about American lives, maybe she should stop her manufactured hysteria around Turkey. 33,577 American nationals reside in Turkey (including myself). She is not telling you the truth about the on-the-ground realities here. If Turkey is such a “jihadist paradise,” why do so many Westerners, Christians, and American expats CHOOSE to live here? And why do around 1.5 million Americans visit Turkey each year? Ask yourself why so many pro-Israeli voices have become so hyper-fixated on Turkey almost overnight this past month.
