Technical knowledge is not enough. One must transcend techniques so that the art becomes an artless art, growing out of the unconscious.
Shoot more.
Public servants promoted on merit and ability. That’s a fucking novel idea!
In the wake of the recent Police Leadership Commission report, Professor Emma Williams, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Equity in Uniformed Public Services at Anglia Ruskin University, argues that it’s time policing shifted its leadership focus from “How many?” to “How well?”, through changes in culture, how leaders are chosen and supported, how they portray the leadership styles that policing needs, and how leadership performance is measured.

To believe that the Buddha does not exist in the working parts of a firearm is to demean the Buddha, and to demean the Buddha is to demean yourself.
I’m anticipating a Burnham, Healy & Streeting announcement cancelling Challenger 3 and replacing with these Temu tanks so they can give £3 Billon in reparations to former ‘Barbary Coast resorts’ that lost trade due to British actions in the past.

This may surprise some, but I wouldn’t be in favour generally. The Northern Irish have the right balance in my opinion

“We aim to respond within 5 months”
I know this isn’t news to UK gun owners but the level of ineptitude regarding management of firearms licensing by police constabularies is staggering.
You know the Home Office and Police are deliberately and actively preventing UK citizens from obtaining firearms when you fill in the Firearm/Shotgun certificate application l/renewal form.
In the digital age, it’s such an obvious fuck you.

Another remarkable lady from the same era and working with 14 Int in Northern Ireland was Sarah Ford. She was on the IPSC circuit too as part of the ‘Hereford Gun Club’. Quite the character.
Lance Corporal Sarah Jane Warke was assigned to the Military Reaction Force, a special unit which operated in Northern Ireland in small teams of plainclothes personnel.
Jane was originally from Derry in Northern Ireland, before joining the British Army, where she served in the Women’s Royal Army Corps.
Jane used the alias ‘Kate’ while working for the Four Square Laundry, a front company targeting the homes of suspected IRA members in the Twinbrook estate in West Belfast. When the dirty clothing was picked up, it was forensically examined for gunpowder and explosive residue before being washed, folded, and returned. Jane was friendly, attractive, and her local accent allowed her to easily blend in.
In the fall of 1972, the IRA discovered two double agents named Kevin McKee and Séamus Wright in their ranks who gave up details of the laundry van and other front companies run by the Military Reaction Force. The IRA executed the two double agents and buried them in unmarked graves.
On October 2nd, 1972, the IRA conducted two attacks against known MRF personnel. Jane was speaking to a housewife at her front door while the MRF driver, a Sapper from the Royal Engineers named Corporal Ted Stuart stayed in the delivery van. Four IRA gunmen pulled up near the van and opened fire.
Corporal Stuart was shot at least five times and died on the scene. The IRA claimed they also killed two more intelligence officers conducting surveillance from a hidden space inside the roof of the van, although British forces denied this.
There are varying accounts of Jane’s actions during the attack. Some reports indicate she survived by hiding inside a house until the danger had passed. Others say she was wounded but managed to draw her concealed Browning Hi-Power and shoot back. The IRA gunmen fled the scene in the face of her determined fire and Jane survived. An hour later, they attacked the Gemini Massage Parlour on Antrim Road, injuring one man inside.
In September 1973 Jane was awarded the Military Medal for this and other covert operations in Northern Ireland.

Great drill.
No hiding from the instant hit or miss feedback from steel and the hard cover papers add to the technical difficulty.

From a competition point of view it makes for economic access to Open Division, so would be a great club gun (I know, not allowed 🙄) but once you can quad load or you’ve got a reliable box mag semi, the 590RM becomes a gimmick.
My goodness that’s pretty.
I will never know why people cannot appreciate firearms for their aesthetic beauty, craftsmanship and engineering.
