Look at the pattern from @OpenPlans @TransAlt
• Fewer bus stops
• Fewer traffic lanes
• Low-traffic neighborhoods
• Street closures (Open Streets)
• Less parking
• Higher congestion tax
Each sold as "safety."
Together, they limit how freely people can move around.

A colossal mess.
This is what happens when "safety" redesigns drawn up by planners influenced by faux activists, who don't live with the consequences, who ignore working New Yorkers who depend on these streets every day.
People are struggling and stressed out! @NYCMayorsOffice
An MTA bus hit a car that was parked on Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn—all thanks to the stupid redesign being carried out by that fool. @NYC_DOT @TransAlt @NYCMayor @NYCMayorsOffice @NassauExec @GovKathyHochul @MTA
Are going to build 20 new subway lines over night and drastically increase bus service? No. So cars will continue to be necessary.

Have you ever tried to get a large group together to oppose something? Virtually impossible without the resources of groups like TA and RA with millions of dollars from large corporate donors.
Replying to @LeVeauNY
You can try to spin this one anyway you can, but the tiny minority of people who oppose these things always “shows up”- when they can’t manage to get people to show up at events like this.
This is not a better street design. It gives a priority to bikes over buses requiring removing the B65 from part of Bergen Street to Atlantic Avenue increasing the e/w service gap in Park Slope with no e/w route between 9 St and Atlantic Ave. Redesign should reduce service gaps.
One death in 160 years, and suddenly it is dangerous. Looks like we need to ban all trucks, buses, cars, and bikes which have all caused more than one death in 160 years.
They ban horses that go 3mph?E biker killed last Summer in park. Silence.2 people killed in one month in high speed cyclist accidents & people get maimed REGULARLY by e-bikes! The hyoocrisy is real @CentralParkNYC @SpeakerMenin @ShaunAbreu @NYCCouncil
DOT is prioritizing bikes over buses with the Bergen St bike blvd. It will move the B65 to Atlantic Ave west of worsening the e/w service gap in Park Slope. There will be no e/w bus 9 St and Atlantic Av. The Brooklyn Bus Redesign should eliminate service gaps, not worsen them.
“Our streets belong to everyone—pedestrians, cyclists, bus riders, motorists, seniors, families, and local merchants. Every voice deserves to be heard before permanent changes are made,” organizers said.

The lawsuits have been valid. Vote yes if you believe in communism that takes away all your rights and gives it to the city and state.
Proposals on the back of your November ballot will protect bike and bus lane projects from frivolous lawsuits that have exploited the city's extensive bureaucratic requirements to impede safety redesigns across the city. buff.ly/3JkJw2B

The @NYC_DOT has sabotaged our streets by reducing traffic lanes, changing traffic signals, closing streets, and building bike lanes along major roads that don’t need them. This has had devastating consequences as EMS response times have increased 41%. gothamist.com/news/nyc-ambul…
Parents have responsibilities. When I was 5, my parents taught me not to step off the curb. I was only allowed on 1 side street with little traffic. Are they still taught that today? We shouldn’t have to drive at 15 mph just because a kid might step out from between parked cars.
No, but I wouldn’t be happy if I had to rely on limited street parking. You don’t get to choose if it’s against zoning laws and you don’t get a variance.
Replying to @BrooklynBus
Do you own the property on which that condo is going up? No? Then too bad. I know in your communist utopia you get to tell others what to do with their property, but in capitalism I get to choose what I build on my land.
If someone moves into a low density neighborhood, they have the right to assume it will remain that for the foreseeable future. I am not choosing where others have to live. They can live in a high density area if that is their preference.
