Did you know our Brown Surgery family is also in St. Thomas?! Our previous graduate, Dr. Comissiong, returned to her home in St. Thomas to work in her community- and also established her home as a selective location for PGY3 and 4 Brown Surgery residents! ☀️

We ❤️ our mentorship dinners! Last week one of our trauma surgeons, Dr. Emigh, hosted a Trauma Mentorship dinner at his home. Residents had the opportunity to learn more about life as a trauma surgeon and enjoy time together outside of the hospital (our favorite!) 🌟 🩺

Today’s Furry Friday feature is from one of our awesome attendings, Dr. Mazzaglia! Leopold is Dr. Mazzaglia’s Royal Palm turkey (possbly mixed with Narragansett). And a fun bonus? The hens just started laying again because the amount of daylight is increasing! 🦃 🐔

Big congrats to our resident, Dr. Zheng, for receiving the AAS Outstanding Research Award! 🥇 This award recognizes Dr. Zheng’s work on incretin mimetics and their influence on reprogramming metabolism in swine models of CAD with metabolic syndrome. Congratulations, Dr. Zheng! 💯
