ALT HackSoc has prided itself on pushing for inclusivity and not remaining silent when issues are presented, as such our pride colours have been conspicuously absent so far this month. George Floyd is the most recent in a list of names that shouldn't exist in the first place. The police brutality that lead to his death is a result of ingrained and institutionalized discrimination. This cannot be allowed to continue. Though June is traditionally the season in which we fly the rainbow flag to show our support for the LGBTQIA+ community we find ourselves compelled to give the space to the Black Lives Matter movement as they fight for their lives, liberation and justice. Additionally we also want to open our platform up to our BAME members, tag us, DM us, however you want to, reach out and we will amplify. HackSoc always has and always will belong to our members, if you have any comments on what we are doing and what we can do better, reach out to us via any of our channels. HackSoc Committee
