Last night was fun. Hope we do it on a regular basis. Idea for next year: play it at Central HS to replicate the Neville experience for Bama fans.

Ryan Coleman Williams with 4 catches & 104 yards at the half. Probably a good idea not pulling his scholarship after a few drops😂

Over 42 years broadcasting @AlabamaMBB & @AlabamaFTBL.. I don’t think anyone has witnessed & broadcasted more @UA_Athletics events than @TomStipe_RTR. Congrats to a legend who’s still going strong! Roll Tide!🙌
My most sincere thank you to the Alabama Broadcasters Association for inducting me into the Alabama Broadcasters Hall of Fame. The secret to whatever success I have had is really quite simple. I have been surrounded by true Hall of Famers my entire life. From my initial introduction to — and immediate fascination with — radio because of my old friend James Spann… to collecting championship rings alongside Eli Gold and Chris Stewart… my broadcasting life has been, and continues to be, the ride of a lifetime. And through every chapter of that ride, I have somehow been fortunate enough to have some of the very best in the business beside me… teaching me, encouraging me, putting up with me, and, more often than not, making me look a whole lot better than I really was. So I am especially thankful for the Hall of Famers and legends who were on hand to once again prop me up. Thank you James Spann, Eli Gold, Tom Roberts, Dave Baird, Tony Giles, Pam Huff, Jimmy Carter, Barry Copeland, Gene Copeland, and Jim Carabin for being there… Last night… And always. What an incredible honor. And what a ride! @ALBroadcasters

For those who missed Bama vs Soviet Union exh. game in 77… here you go⬇️
NEW: Alabama and Auburn basketball will meet in an October exhibition game in Birmingham, @_JHokanson reports. If it sells out, both schools will make six figures, providing a boost to their roster-building efforts. on3.com/teams/auburn-tigers/…

Rammer Jammer just before kickoff/tip was🔥
Just curious, is there an old Alabama tradition you'd want to bring back. Something in the spirit of the Alabama-Tennessee home jersey deal.

Heartbreaking news. Joe was always one of my favorite people around college & SEC basketball. He was so fun to talk to. Funny, smart, engaging & just a great guy. I’ve missed seeing him in recent years. Prayers for his family🙏
Truly devastated just hearing the news in the last couple of hours about the death of @joedeanjr who spent the better part of 20 years with me calling @SEC 🏀. The former @HailStateMBK player and former Grad Asst. after graduation later joined Joe B. Hall’s staff @KentuckyMBB as an Asst.on their 1978 National Championship team. Joe’s career would lead him to bith @UCF_MBB and Birmingham Southern where in 6 years he built a Championship program that eventually led to multiple National Titles under Duane Reboul in 90 & 95. Joe had become their Athletic Director and was credited for that success and the hiring of Reboul a HS Coach at the time in New Orleans. Our first game together was an 11th hour quite by chance moment when Joe replaced @DickieV when winter 🥶 ice storm kept him from getting to a game in Tuscaloosa and he and I having known one another called Georgia/Alabama on an SEC Tuesday Night on @espn. It led to Joe being hired to call games (just as his best friend and Dad Joe Sr. had done for decades)then @RaycomSports/Jefferson Pilot brought him in to join Larry Conley, Tom Hammond and me as primary commentators thru 2009. Joe had dreamed of being just like his Dad and becoming Athletic Director at his alma mater. His health suffered in the years that followed and he was off the grid. He’s health was far more of an issue than most of us knew all those years ago, until recently when more information came to us after he suffered a stroke. Joe Jr. was a walking talking Memorial to his legendary Father, and he loved that. Now, he’s done suffering and is with his best friend “Mr.String Music 🏀”for eternity. We shared some awesome moments together covering SEC Basketball. Our hearts go out to his beloved wife Ellen, son Scott, and daughter Leslie. I’ve missed Joe for a long time already, but now I know he’s with his Pop and Mom both magnificent people whom We all loved on this earth.RIP Joe Joe and give your Dad & Doris a hug. 💜🙏

Today we celebrate the birthday of legendary @AlabamaMBB coach @wimpsanderson1 who won 267 games, five SEC Tournaments, one SEC championship and reached the Sweet 16 six times. Perhaps his greatest legacy is making plaid as synonymous to basketball as houndstooth is to football.
