Dustin Pedroia nails it in this interview from Chasing Baseball Dreams Parent Advice! How many good baseball players are being passed over in favor of Showcase Ponies who can light up the radar guns but can’t pitch or guys that can hit the ball 500 feet in batting practice but can’t actually hit in games? This trend was created by non baseball people eliminating scouting positions in favor of interns with cameras and radar guns! The game has suffered tremendously by thinking throwing Velocity and Exit Velocity are the most important tools in baseball players! #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @billdubs @iamrags @artofhitting @hittingguru7 @slider_sinker @SliderDom @low_and_outside @TheRealJHair @DMEASrecruiting @VandyonTigers @mikepiazza31 @KevinKennedyMLB @SalMarinello @RVGDag @AMBS_Kernan @TheKineticArm @WillClark22 @MLB @MLBPA @MLBPAA

Thankful for another great Summer with Kings 17u - McDonald/Smith… Team went 26-7-1 & made 3 Championship games… Love my teammates, staff & the togetherness we were about! I hit leadoff all season, had a 25:6 BB to K ratio playing primarily SS, (+ 2b & CF)… More stats below ⬇️

Baseball players: I do not care about your showcase numbers or your stats. I care about how you respond to failure, whether you put the team first, give 100 percent effort every pitch, and do the little things that help your team win. The best players are not defined by their tools alone. They impact the game in every way, play with energy, lead by example, compete with toughness, and make everyone around them better. Talent gets you noticed. Character, competitiveness, and selflessness set you apart. Team > Individual. Every. Single. Time. I can guarantee the college coaches recruiting you value those qualities just as much, if not more, than your measurable numbers.

Team had a great weekend going 6-0 and winning the GVSU invite… Went 8/14, 10R, 7STL, 5RBI, 7BB, 1HBP, 1K… few clips below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Another good weekend for the team making the championship game… Didn’t catch as many barrels as I’d like but scrapped to a 7-15 weekend, w/ 5bb, HBP, SF, 0K, 8R… Couple of over the shoulder plays @ SS ⬇️

Team went 4-1 at the CMU Classic this weekend. Went 11-18 at the plate (w/1BB & 0K) including a 2 RBI triple off a great arm & opponent. Looking forward to the Gabby at Northwood next weekend! Video of triple below…

Very grateful to be named All State for the 3rd consecutive year and to this year’s All Divisions Dream Team! Congrats to my teammates for also earning All State!! 2026 Spring season stats… .596 AVG (56-94) 61 R 48 SB 37 RBI (Leadoff) 16 XBH .967 Fielding % (87-90) (SS)

When teams really want to be successful, tough training sessions become a reward and never a punishment. Winners love to put work in. - Gary Curneen

It doesn’t get easier. It doesn't. The challenges just change shape. 🔴▪️🔻🔸 You run a marathon. You get through the suck. You push through exhaustion. And your threshold for pain rises. 🛗 That threshold is the best predictor of your future success. Because hard most of the time equals production. The goal isn't to eliminate hard. The goal is to become the type of person who can handle hard better. Every difficult conversation, early morning workout, setback, disappointment, and failure is a repetition. Each one serves you. Each one expands your capacity. Not because the obstacle shrinks, but because YOU grow. 🍄 Success rarely belongs to those with the easiest path. It belongs to those who have trained themselves to carry heavier loads. Hard doesn't get easier. You just handle hard better.. And now you can do more hard. More hard = more production. So embrace hard.

2027 SS Jerryd Scheurer (Portland St. Patrick) Scheurer had a huge spring from leadoff spot for the Shamrocks .596 AVG / 16 XBH / 37 RBI / 61 R / 48 SB Had 2 hits in regional final win yesterday, added this triple in QF showdown w/ Sacred Heart 🎥⬇️

The best teams have reserves who star in their roles and starters who practice like they're trying to make the team. 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗦 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦.

Any coach can learn the x’s and o’s. It takes a special coach to build a strong culture and form positive relationships with players.
