Reflecting on my life, I can honestly say l'd rather stay sober than ever have to get sober all over again.

Friday Support #Recovery #Addiction - The power of change
This coming March will be 10 years for me completely FREE from any alcohol / drugs and theres not a single day that i don't practise gratitude for my recovery because its THE most special thing i have ever done.
I chat daily to ppl about addiction / recovery and i am so passionate to break the stigma that comes with the word 'addict'
Addiction doesn't discriminate - the very best most loving person can develop an addiction which can totally change their behaviour!
That was me! In this picture my life was consumed with drinking and using drugs , i was losing all the things i loved and as much as i tried to stop ....I couldn't.
What was once 'social' became utter torture and incredibly anti social .. Paranoid misery, smashing trust and losing all the things i loved. Yet i still couldn't stop! I absolutely hated myself!
I was in and out of recovery services but my addiction convinced me that if i stopped drinking/using then i would have no social life, no mates, no personality, would be stuck in the house bored and couldn't go anywhere!
Thing is that was what my life was like in addiction ...
So made a final decision to change - to put my recovery 1st and to work hard at my recovery
Its still to this day THE best decision i have ever made
Please if your struggling, the fun has stopped yet you cant stop ... Then reach out to a support network because its very hard on your own
Life truly starts when you stop!

Well I must say that I am happy with my waterproof jacket & trousers & walking boots as they have been tested for an hour in horrendous conditions walking the dog & I may be soaked on the outside - I am dry inside
That day you walked in and changed my life
I think it's amazing
Happy birthday Buddy
6 years old today
Monday morning
It’s getting darker & colder with even a touch of ground frost
But keep smiling & keep keeping on - enjoy a great Day
Some mornings I really have to pinch myself and say I built up this life by becoming a better version of myself - working a recovery program & doing so much better than I could ever have imagined
Sober living ain’t all that bad I’m
3547 days clean & sober today
This morning’s sunrise was epic
17 degrees and a warm sea breeze
made walking the dog amongst the pheasants & deer a joy
