VTuber friends!! When you’re looking for artwork to use for your schedule, what do you look for? What search terms do you use? I’m looking for things to bookmark rn but nothing is speaking to me yet so I’m trying to refine my search!! 🔍🐛

Getting little money IS still monetary gain though. Even if it doesn’t make up for the money you put in, that’s not what monetary gain means. Yes, some artists do charge absurd prices for content (not commercial) licensing. That doesn’t mean you should lie about your usage.

Also if your complaint is the stigma, that isn’t VGen’s fault at the end of the day, that’s the fault of bad brokers and others in the space.

I am confused because doesn’t relate to anything I have said…? You have said you don’t do any brokerage services on VGen and that’s part of why you’re “wrongfully labeled” but all I’m doing is pointing out that isn’t the truth?

Two would make you a broker on VGen still. Resellers fall under brokerage.

Those studios can all be a group of self employed artists, as long as there is no main entity employing them. You have a main entity doing subcontracts which makes you a broker. If they DO have a main entity doing subcontracts, they are improperly labeled and should be a broker.

They have BOTH. Because they have both, they have to be labeled as a broker as they are an organization (a studio) that ALSO hires from outside their team. They have admitted in their own tweets they subcontract.

So do you or do you not offer external services through VGen? Are the things you have in your shop (not commissions tab, the shop tab) made by those in house artists? I don’t see some of the credited artists’ names on your website or on your VGen.

So 1. That’s not what brokers do by definition, that’s what the bad brokers do that have given the title a bad rep. Broker is a neutral title. 2. Per the screenshots from them, they subcontract their work which falls under brokerage per your screenshot. They are a broker.

And, for what it’s worth, yall sound like FANTASTIC brokers who do fantastic with treatment of artists!! It just has to do with the legal technicality of the contracts is all 🤷‍♀️

Mistreatment and underpayment of artists isn’t what makes a broker. There are other people who act badly under the broker title and ruin it for others, sure, but you are not exempt from the broker title for not doing these bad things but doing the other things that brokers do.
