Extremely proud of my MD-PhD student, Hazar Yassen, who has won the National President’s Award for Excellence and Scientific Innovation. Keep up the outstanding work, Hazar!
(3/n) Our study reveals that transcription factor combinations use distinct strategies to locate enhancers:
OSKM factors leverage motif orientation within chromatin loops to target pluripotent enhancers.
GETM factors use looping junctions to locate trophectoderm enhancers.
(2/n) We identified a previously uncharacterized DNA element adjacent to enhancers, which we’ve termed the "signpost." This element facilitates transcription factor binding near enhancers, enabling precise targeting and activation.
After a long journey, we settled down in our new and beautiful house in NY . I feel that this year of sabbatical is going to be great, both scientifically and fun wise.
What a fun session of round tables. Great opportunity for students to speak directly with leaders in the stem cell field. Thank you Rudolf Jaenisch, Ken Zaret, Elaine Fuchs and George Costarelis.
Outstanding talk by Kenneth Zaret on the positive and negative chromatin structures affecting cell state and cellular reprogramming.
I took this picture just for you shiri. @ShiriGurCohen
Fantastic talk by an amazing MD-PhD student in the lab @RachelLasry. Super proud! #stemcell2022
