The @BuildSDorg team is doing incredible work!
Here's their case why Solana Beach, a wealthy coastal town, should not be excluded from SB 79 designation by @SANDAG

Solana Beach Station qualifies for more housing under SB 79, according to a @buildsdorg analysis, but SANDAG left it off its draft map.
If SANDAG's decision stands, fewer homes will be built near transit.

🧵 The San Diego region is officially halfway through our 6th Cycle RHNA, simply known as the region’s 8-year housing goals. Some interesting insights from the housing data over the past 4 years. The good news, we’ve gotten some policy/zoning reforms that have delivered increases in market rate & affordable housing. The bad news, it’s not enough. We’re just barely permitting enough market rate housing and we’re nowhere near hitting our affordable housing goals.
Additionally, SB 35’s streamlining provisions are now updated (halfway point of the 6th Cycle) and I’ll go more into what that means at the end of maybe another thread.
Here’s a quick breakdown of SD’s housing data 👇

Del Mar continues to reject a 259-unit housing project that includes 85 affordable homes. State law requires cities that fail to meet housing goals to approve these projects.
Del Mar missed its deadline, so it has to say yes, yet it still delays.
