Drift, a Solana perps exchange, lost about $295M after attackers tricked its admins into approving fake transactions. It paused, relaunched as Velocity, and now proposes a recovery plan for affected users. 🧵

Affected users received DFX recovery tokens. Each token represents $1 of verified loss, but it is not $1 returned today. It is a claim on a recovery pool funded by future exchange revenue, partner support and any stolen funds recovered. At launch: ~$3.1M for ~$299M in losses.

That means early redemptions paid around 1 cent per dollar of loss. Meanwhile, a wallet linked to the exploit moved $61M in ETH into Tornado Cash, making the money trail harder to follow. A recovery token is a promise with execution risk, not cash.

Celestia just launched Eden, an EVM chain for AI agents to trade and pay onchain. It is explicitly an experiment, not a production network. TIA is its gas token. The real question is whether agent payments create durable demand, or just bot traffic.

Aave V4, a DeFi lending protocol, has opened USDC/EURC borrowing on Circle's Arc network. Users can now borrow dollars against euro stablecoins, or euros against dollars, onchain. This is crypto's FX market moving into lending pools.
