Last greyhound dogs race in NZ tonight. Sad day for good industry folk that love their dogs and enjoy their racing.
One of those rare times you attend a final and can relax shortly after kick off knowing the result was in hand. Hurricanes were incredible last night and one of the best atmospheres I’ve experienced in any sporting code.
Bunkers …that were bunkers. Love discovering lost treasure and for the main part, Nelson Golf Club today had a few retired gems, I’d have kept those bunkers in the first pic and cleared those trees.
“Next time your ball bounces out of the trees, go and throw it back in if you think the game should be fair. Accepting the unfairness is thee great mental challenge of the game” @mikeclaytongolf talking sense on This Golfing Life Podcast. Even the dog wished it went longer
After watching the pros last week taking on Paraparaumu Beach in the NZPGA I got my turn on the links. It was fun watching the pros take high numbers on the short 5th…not so fun when playing it myself and missing to the right. Signed for a 7!!
Happy New Year. A busy schedule ahead in 26 and looking forward to chasing sunrises and sunsets and everything in between.
As you get older it’s easy to talk about the “glory years” but my 4yrs working at Royal Melbourne came close. Richard Forsyth and the current custodians have done an amazing job this week. Great to have an Aust Open back. Living it vicariously from a distance!
Such a fun weekend back at “thee” spiritual home (of New Zealand Golf!). 5 lots of nine hole matchplay and walking around the links had me feeling like a proud father.
Hoping kiwis can fly. @LiamLawson30 steering with the likes of Chris Amon, Bruce Mclaren and Denny Hulme 1967 F1 Drivers Champion in his rear view mirror.
Camping on the south coast of New Zealand’s North Island and discovered this painted white stone. Gave off County Down vibes!
I first met John Haley when he was a second year apprentice Hutt Golf Club and I was a first year at Whitby, 32 years on we are still living out our careers in turf, i just feel so fortunate that this week i got to hang one of his originals that celebrated a good chunk of mine
And to think the wife questioned my credit card spending earlier this year. Long term investment I call it and a great addition to the annual gathering of the family Christmas Tree Committee! @TheMasters
The last 18 yrs has afforded me so many incredible experiences, personal & professional development, a huge deal of job satisfaction & I have been fortunate to meet so many great people in the course of my job, I truly wish Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club every success for the future
One of life’s fortunate golfing experiences - the play and stay package at @VicGolfClub and to do it alongside and have it happen because of some great industry mates made it feel even more special.
