For the sake of your mental health, learn the difference between being fully chosen and simply being kept around. Being chosen means someone makes an effort to have you in their life. Being kept around means they give you just enough attention to keep you from leaving, but never enough to make you feel secure. One brings you peace. The other leaves you constantly questioning where you stand, overthinking every interaction and wondering whether you’re asking for too much. You deserve to be someone’s intentional choice, not someone’s convenient option. Stop settling for a place in someone’s life when what you really want is to know you belong there.

Nobody talks about how draining it is when your mood keeps switching between "keep going, it'll get better" and "I can't do this anymore I'm about to give up"

having to beg someone to do something with you and then watching them do it with others willingly and happily is a different kind of hurt

There's a fucking price to becoming self-aware, and nobody tells you about it.
People talk about awakening like you've just downloaded some magical software update. Congratulations, you're conscious now. Everything's supposed to be sunshine, rainbows and spiritual enlightenment. Fucking bollocks.
The more aware you become, the more shit you notice. You start recognising patterns in people, but the uncomfortable part is when you start catching your own bullshit. Your excuses, your reactions, the lies you've been telling yourself for years. You can't even have a proper meltdown anymore without some little voice in your head going, Here we fucking go again
And sometimes you wish you could switch it off. Go back to being blissfully ignorant, walking around like half the population with absolutely no idea what's going on upstairs.
But you can't unsee what you've seen. You catch yourself halfway through reacting, realise exactly which wound you're reacting from, and now you've got to sit there and deal with it instead of blaming some poor bastard for triggering you.
That's the part nobody advertises about self-awareness. You lose the luxury of lying to yourself.
Ignorance was comfortable. Awareness sends you the bill.

avoidant: i need you to understand my boundaries.
me: of course.
avoidant: i need space when i'm overwhelmed.
me: okay.
me: i need reassurance when i'm anxious.
avoidant: you're exhausting.
me: so your needs are boundaries, but mine are fucking problems?
avoidant: that's not what i meant.
me: funny how your feelings need protection, but mine need permission.

Parasuicide is when the pain becomes unbearable, and you reach for an escape, not because you truly want to die, you just want the suffering to stop. You want an escape from a life that feels too heavy to carry, even for one more day.

you know what's actually heartbreaking? becoming so used to disappointment that when something good finally happens, your first instinct is to wonder how long it'll last
