Up Around the Bend Some moody clouds and mist move up around a bend in the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The snowy peak in the distance is Bessemer Mountain.

Middle Fork Autumn Winter Fusion Step into the light and breath the warm air and light, step into the shadows and feel the cool chill of Winter. Step back and forth, sway this way and that, and dance into the fusion of Autumn and Winter.

At Home Along the Ocean Shore “We do not "come into" this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean "waves," the universe "peoples." Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.” Alan Watts

Lines of Green Stones at the Harbor I’m not sure what natural and organic marine and geologic forces created these lines of stones covered with seaweed. But they sure look like they were designed with intention. This is from my backpacking trip to Shi Shi Beach.

Mellow Yellow Daisies look out into a North Cascades sunset, as beautiful and mellow yellow light fills the sky above Lake Ann casting a warm glow on all of the land.

Avalanche Lily Dreams On my recent backpacking trip to Indian Henry's Hunting Ground, I was greeted by fields of Avalanche Lilies. These Lilies normally bloom in late June/early July, but the bloom cycles are about three weeks late this year. I’m overjoyed with what I found.

Mason Lake Moment of Tranquility I wandered into some beautiful atmosphere at Mason Lake yesterday. As I arrived the fog crawled and crept onto the lake basin where the bear grass dotted the lake shore.

Inner Glow This was taken with a soft focus lens at the Point Defiance Rose Garden which also has Calla Lilies. Although I normally do not take images in strong midday light, I loved how this light rendered the lilies almost translucent revealing their inner glow.

Vanilla Leaf Nurse Log Colony Deep in the Ohanapecosh Forest of Mt. Rainier, this patch of Vanilla Leaf in bloom had completely colonized this old decaying nurse log to the point where it was barely visible. The old makes life possible for the new!
