Alan Huss, BJ Davis and Austin Swartz sat there glumly, displeased and unsatisfied with how Creighton unraveled.
They had just won, sure, but the result wasn’t as important as how they did it.
Or how they nearly lost.
Days after surrendering a big lead at Iowa State, the Bluejays blew another against Minnesota. Far from their lofty standard.
“It’s a great lesson of what we’re capable of. It’s a great lesson of just how small the margin for error in college basketball is.”

Asked Alan Huss why he kept taking Oswin Erhunmwunse out late. It was a matchup thing, he said, since Minnesota had a pick-and-pop big man.
“That was the thought process. Clearly, we didn’t get any stops, so it wasn’t a very good one.”
Alan Huss said BJ Davis, who went 7 for 19 in two exhibitions, “is an elite shooter.” Added that the San Diego State transfer led Creighton in “pretty much every category” during the offseason.
Huss: “When we recruited him, we knew that — is he going to sometimes take a tough one? Yes. … Is he ever going to be afraid of the moment? Absolutely not.”
Alan Huss on putting the ball in Wes Enis’ hands late despite the Creighton guard not shooting well most of the night: “He’s got a giant set of guts on him.”

Alan Huss said Creighton forward Jasen Green is considered day-to-day. Said he would’ve probably gone tonight if it were a regular-season game.
Alan Huss: "It's clear why you play exhibition games. We had an opportunity tonight to show where we were, and we weren't able to capitalize on that opportunity."
Creighton guard Wes Enis — scoreless at halftime — finished with a team-high 20 points on 21 shots.
FINAL/2OT: Creighton 89, Minnesota 86
Exhibition or not, that’s an invaluable experience to have under your belt before the games actually matter. Swartz, Enis and Davis took over down the stretch. See y’all Nov. 2 for the season opener.
BJ Davis has been so damn good in double overtime. Finally coupled his stout defense with some scoring. Hell of a play to put Creighton ahead. He's up to 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Minnesota's would-be game-winner clanged off the rim. We're headed to double overtime. Some exhibition lol
