Here’s a fascinating historical discovery without ideological valence that makes refreshing reading — especially for those who find themselves sleepless more often than they’d like: the lost habit of “biphasic sleep”:

One of my favorite 2021 films was Holler, about a young woman & her older brother becoming scrappers in a dying Ohio town. Not an ounce of fat. Sections feel like you're watching a documentary from the 1970s, the kind that just watches people do things. rogerebert.com/reviews/holle…
Beyond ecstatic if this actually happens. Quantum Leap was my favorite show back in its day.

Every now and then, I come across a debut record that is just so complete and richly imagined and solid I can’t believe it’s a debut.
Just stumbled on @sydneysprague’s “maybe I will see you at the end of the world”.
Shit, I love this album.

If you spend time scrolling #BookTok, you've probably come across videos about 'Cain's Jawbone,' a literary puzzle from 1934 that's so difficult, only four people have ever figured it out. trib.al/SJHszys

A special Merry Christmas to everyone having to work tonight and tomorrow, healing the sick, keeping the lights on, protecting our nation, keeping services running, administering to those in need. To all who Mr. Rogers called the “helpers,” we honor and appreciate your service.
