(AL) Want to know what it's like to work as part of a hands-on conservation project? Get an insight into a typical day of our Kilcoole Little Tern wardens in this article by @rosalindskillen.
The Kilcoole Little Tern Project is an @NPWSIreland project run by BirdWatch Ireland.
A heartwarming example of how active conservation management will restore wildlife population 🐣💕
The Kilcoole Little Tern colony has grown from 20 nesting pairs in the 1980s to over 270 pairs in 2024 thanks to @BirdWatchIE and partners.

Here are the largest number of birds I have EVER seen in my life! Estimated to be 500,000 Amur falcons migrating to Africa, stopping midway at Nagaland. Happy to see them after the work @wti_org_india did years ago to protect them with community & FD #Nagaland #IndiAves

Great few days on Cape Clear staying at @yurtsinireland. 8 year old had a great time ticking off the bird list in Steve Wings book, including his 1st whitethroat & wheatears. Loads of butterflies to ID aswell.

Browsing the Cape Clear book brought back fond memories of my stay at the Obs in Sep. 1983. I did not know that the Yellow-breasted Bunting was the 1st for the Cape. Ken Preston kindly sent me photos later. @CCBOIE
