THE PROMISE OF PEACE. THE TEST OF CLIMATE ACTION. United Nations Day recalls the resolve to spare succeeding generations the scourge of war & uphold international peace. Today, climate change threatens lives, livelihoods & the stability on which peace depends. The UN & MS must meet this existential challenge with action equal to its scale. Let us bring that founding resolve to the climate challenge—and secure a future in which peace can endure. 🇵🇭💪🌏 @CCCPHL

FARM TO SPOON. CLIMATE ACTION. SIARGAO. Good to welcome Mayor Alfredo Coro II and his team today at @CCCPHL & congratulate @del_lgu on its Farm-to-Spoon’s Galing Pook Award. The municipality leads the PSF-funded Climate Field School for farmers and fisherfolk & hosted the inaugural SIPLAS Climate Week. On Siargao, food security, livelihoods and climate resilience are never separate islands.

FROM FARM TO FOOD SYSTEM Today’s @CCCPHL meetings came with turon from our MSMEs—banana, local enterprise and a fine-looking reminder of what our food system brings to the table. Choosing local helps sustain livelihoods and keep value in the community. Supporting farmers, food businesses and resilient supply chains is work shared by @dacentralph, @DtiPhilippines @FAOPhilippines & CCC. The turon was today’s treat; a stronger food system is the lasting return. 🇵🇭💪👍🏽

Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow. I was a HS sophomore from South Cotabato, among the youngest student delegates at what I remember as the DA’s first World Food Day gathering for youth in 🇵🇭. PICC, IRRI, UPLB & CLSU made for quite an itinerary. The places stayed with me; the questions stayed longer: how food security underpins development, & how a country shapes its own food future. Today, as @CCCPHL VCED, we work closely with @dacentralph & @FAOPhilippines to advance climate action that strengthens the resilience of our agriculture & food systems. @dabbadie

@opgovph @pcogovph @civildefensePH @NDRRMC_OpCen @PTVph @PIADesk @pnagovph

Paano kung hindi mo naririnig ang babala? In the face of climate risks, access to information can mean access to safety. We must ensure that climate warnings are seen, understood, and accessible to everyone, including persons with disabilities. Inclusive climate action means making sure no one is left behind. Let us make climate information accessible. Let us make climate action inclusive. 🇵🇭🌏 @CCCPHL @loren_legarda @pcogovph @PIADesk @UN @DILGPhilippines @dswdserves

We face a contradiction that should disturb us: while millions go hungry, food is lost or discarded at every stage—from farm to table. When food decomposes in landfills, it releases methane, a greenhouse gas more potent than carbon dioxide. What can we do to turn this around, where food nourishes people and not landfills? How can we build a system that values every harvest and cuts methane from wasted food?

Balamban builds ships that sail the world. It also knows what disaster can destroy and what communities can rebuild. With @AboitizFDN, @gcashofficial and partners, it showed how bamboo, clean communities and enterprise can strengthen climate resilience. @CCCPHL @GinggayHontiver

Towards predictive, anticipatory and preventive adaptation governance.
The CCC welcomed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s decision to bring the Philippines into the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), calling it a practical and forward-looking step for climate adaptation. @bongbongmarcos @pcogovph @cdri_world

Progress means nothing if we destroy what made us rich in the first place. "Naalala pa ba natin kung bakit sila pumunta rito?" A reminder that true development works with our ecosystem, not against it.

A meaningful step forward for more inclusive climate action. With President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s approval of three CCC resolutions on gender-responsive climate governance, we strengthen how gender considerations are integrated into climate policies, programs, investments, and decision-making. Climate action must recognize different vulnerabilities and ensure that no one is left behind. By putting inclusivity at the heart of climate governance, we build a more just and resilient Philippines. 🇵🇭🌏 @bongbongmarcos @pcogovph
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has advanced efforts to integrate gender and social inclusivity into climate governance, planning, implementation, and monitoring. @PCWgovph @pcogovph

Immensely grateful for these kind of opportunities to strengthen evidence-based climate action through better data, research & innovation. Stronger climate data means better understanding of risks, better tracking of progress and better policies on the ground. By connecting academe, government and the next generation of data scientists, we strengthen the foundation for a more resilient and climate-informed Philippines. 🇵🇭🌎💪 @aim_edu
The CCC has partnered with the @aim_edu to launch research-based efforts to support evidence-based and data-informed climate action and ecological monitoring in the Philippines through improved datasets and analyses.

With the recent weather events that caused flooding, suspending classes or work is first and foremost a decision to protect people. But adaptation is more than finding another way to keep everything going. There will still be days when the safest and most responsible decision is to say, “Walang pasok.” The measure of progress is not whether we eliminate those days. It is whether we learn enough from each disruption to make the next one less disruptive.
